I'm on a songfic kick. I heard this on the radio and thought it would be perfect. Totally surprised that it was a Backstreet Boys song. Don't worry if it doesn't make sense...I don't.
P.S. Someone tell me what to rate this.
Disclaimer: I don't own the anime or the song.

He knows when she walks in. She comes every Saturday night like a clockwork doll. Punctual to a fault, pretending that she comes here for something other than him. He finishes the song he had been singing, asking the audience to wait while he takes a breath.
His eyes watch her hands, still, holding a menu and remembers what it was like when her ivory fingers held him intimately in a loose alabaster grip. The way her hair roamed like a dark curtain brushing his thighs, his stomach, his chest.
The drink she ordered comes and he knows without looking that it is Tanqueray and tonic. She once used to drink baybreezes made with Malibu instead of vodka. Once, when she liked sweetness over bitter. Her lips curl around the straw and his heart aches in sweet agony for the plastic tube. He knows what its like when her lips are curled around you.
She never looks at him. He knows that she won't let him think she is weak by looking. So he returns to the microphone and the music starts. His voice begins, a plea crooned.
Empty…
Spaces…
Fill me up with holes…
He wills his voice to stay steady.
Distant…
Faces…
with no place left to go…
She throws the straw to the side and drinks from the glass.
Without you…
Within me…
I can't find no rest…
He sings the words she wrote on his heart.
Where I'm…
Going…
Is anybody's guess…
His gold eyes are on her still. Like the sun shining through amber.
I've tried to go on, like I never knew you
I'm awake, but my world is half asleep
I pray, for this heart to be unbroken
But without you all I'm going to be is
In-com-plete

He sings her this and she knows it's truth.
Voices tell me I should carry on
She begins to fall back into his trap
But I am swimming in an ocean all alone
Until she remembers why she left.
Baby, my baby
So simple. This song could be for either.
It's written on your face
He never said he wrote it for her.
You still wonder if we made a big mistake
And, in the silence, she remembers the crystalline sound of a shattering heart. Her cinnamon eyes harden once more, and she resolves to be strong.
I've tried to go on like I never knew you

He doesn't even realize he's singing anymore. It flows out of his mouth as he is hypnotized by his desires, his goals, he loves her.
I'm awake but my world is half asleep
His plea to her. He wills the woman to look at him.
I pray for this heart to be unbroken
To see his apology.
But without you all I'm going to be is incomplete
He's sorry.
I don't mean to drag it on,
And tonight is different.
But I can't seem to let you go
Tonight he'll make her listen and see,
I don't wanna make you face this world alone
Show her she belongs to him
I wanna let you go (alone)
He goes down the stairs, lips against the wire mesh warmed by his voice and takes a knee in front of her. He's sincere.
I've tried to go on like I never knew you
She regards him as if he doesn't matter. She used to worship him.
I'm awake but my world is half asleep
He longs for that neediness again.
I pray for this heart to be unbroken

She loves him so much it aches and trembles inside her like a living thing. It's so easy to fall back into what she once knew.
But without you all I'm going to be is incomplete

She goes home with him and he knows her touch once again. She watches him sleep and grieves to know he'll burn her again. She can't help it. Doesn't anyone know she's just a moth masquerading as a butterfly?
Incomplete…
