Darth Vader's Point of View
Author's note: This is a free verse poem that shows Vader's point of view on the death star. I am not one of those people who think of Darth Vader as the evil killing machine of death! I think of him having thoughts, feelings, emotions; the same as when he was Anakin Skywalker, just corrupted a bit. He's still a human being! I wrote this poem focusing on that.
Disclaimer: No I do not own SW, I wish though…
Down the hallways I drift,
As if staking, searching, deciphering,
Heading towards what I am sure is,
Certain doom
My master awaits my presents,
I know he will burden me with more tasks,
Each one heavier than the last,
Forcing me to the ground,
With the own binds I forged,
Locked in their embrace
And I remember,
It is no one's fault but mine,
I am the one who is to blame,
I am the one who has caused all this pain
Others look and see a monster,
With no heart and an evil mind,
Perhaps that is what I've become,
Will I ever be that innocence again?
My master sees right through me though,
Through the mask and machinery,
As I stand before him,
Sees me as his toy, his puppet to command
I must obey his will,
He laughs saying,
'Freedom is a privilege,
Know who you are, there is no escaping destiny.'
I walk away steaming,
Burning with anger,
I AM angry; I belong to no one,
No one can choose for me but ME
Then again that voice comes,
That voice of sorrow and subduement,
Dark and Mysterious, It says to me;
Your time has come and gone,
This is your path, there is no turning back
Once shattered the mirror,
Impossible to look into,
There is no turning back
Once said the lie,
Forgiveness is silenced,
There is no turning back
Once heard the secrets,
Unable to abandon them,
There is no turning back
Once felt the power,
Forever will it dictate,
There is no turning back
This I remember as I again walk,
Through the glistening hallways,
Through the holocaust I have created,
This time away from damnation,
But where am I going?
I have orders and duties that cling to me,
As if desiring to drown me,
To pull me down,
Even farther than before,
Can there be a promise?
Is there a future?
Can I return?
Are memories no longer carvings in the sands of time?
Or did I truly live through them,
As that distant flame,
That is buried deep beneath me,
Wasn't there;
Hope,
Love,
And Friendship?
Shush, the voice is back,
The same voice that haunts my dreams,
The same voice that follows me like a shadow,
Tracking me where I may go
It tightens it's grip on me,
As if to deliver the final choke of death,
It tells me in its sneaky and ever so sly way;
There is no hope,
There is no future,
There is no return
That time has expired,
The past is no more than a memory,
There is only now,
There is only the being of devastation,
I AM DARTH VADER
Author's Spot: Dun, Dun, Dun, Duh, Da, Dun, Duh, Da, Dun! (Vader's Theme) Yes, sorry I do kind of abuse Vader. But he is my favorite SW character. Alright, how wasit ? I'd like to know your opinion, thanks!
