Gossip moves pretty fast at SPD, so Jack knows what people say about him and Sky. It's amazing that they haven't killed each other yet. They can hear them arguing halfway across the base. They refuse to work together; it's only a matter of time until the B-squad falls apart at the brightly colored seams. It can't be helped. They're total opposites.

Not too long ago, Jack would've agreed with them. But that was before Sky showed him that picture of father back in the early days of SPD. He told Jack how much he wanted to be like his father, the man many called the greatest of all Red Rangers. Jack can only imagine what that must've been like for him growing up- the expectations, the lonely nights- but Sky didn't seem to mind. It was evident that he still thought highly of his father and had wanted nothing more than to emulate him.

And what Sky said reminds Jack a little bit of his own father… or at least, what he remembers of him. He can still see the old man leaning on his cane as they walked home from church, reminding him that God put them here to help other people less fortunate than they were. That's something Jack has always tried to do, even back in the dark days before Z, when it was the orphanage and then the streets and then finding out he could walk through walls.

So we're just a couple of kids trying to make our Dads proud.

Maybe he and Sky are more similar than different.
