My Aching Heart
PS-I don't own Fruits Basket. (Curls into corner an cries) It's not fair!
It was another perfect day in Tohru's Mind. Ah, yes. The sun was shining, the birds were singing, and the sky couldn't be any bluer.
I think I'll go out to the park. Tohru thought. Yuki was out, reporting to his class presidential duties, Kyo had "agreed" to take Kagura to the movies, so she was left all alone with the perverted Shigure.
"I'm going out, Shigure!" Tohru called, sliding on a light jacket.
"Oh? Where to, Princess? Going to pick up Yuki from school?" Shigure asked, not once looking up from his newspaper.
"No, I just want to take a walk in the park. I'll be back by four o'clock to start dinner, though." She said smiling.
"Okay. Just don't get in any trouble, ok?" he asked, finally looking up from his paper for a split second.
"Alright. Bye!" Tohru called as she shut the door behind her.
It turned out to be colder than I had expected. Tohru thought, rubbing her arms for warmth.
She just got to the park and it was already three-thirty. Then, she saw the one thing in her life that she thought that she would never. Yuki was on a girl's porch, with the girl and, oh yeah, kissing her! Tohru thought her heart would break a thousand times over. She just stared at them. She knew it was rude, but she couldn't help it.
After Yuki and the girl finished, the girl went inside and Yuki turned to go home from "work".
His eyes met with hers. "Tohru? What are you…?"
He stopped as Tohru turned her back to him. "I- I don't want to talk to you, EVER!" she yelled and ran off.
"Tohru!" Yuki called after her. "I can… explain…"
He went to go find her.
Tohru was on the swings by the edge of the river that flowed through the park. Yuki... why? I love you and you…you… She let a long, fustraighted sigh.
"Honda -San? Can I please talk to you?" A timid Yuki asked.
"I… I guess so." She whispered.
"That girl, she means nothing to me." He really sounded desperate.
"She means 'nothing', huh? Then why did you kiss her?" she started to cry.
"Honda-S- Tohru…" Yuki put a hand on Tohru's shoulder. "How do I explain this? I got out from school early and she just came up and started walking next to me. I started a conversation- just to be polite- and she turned to walk through the park. No young girl should walk through the park when it's going to be dark soon. So I followed her and I think that she thought that I liked her. I walked her up to her porch and after saying goodbye, I turned to leave. She, on the other hand, had a different plan. She grabbed my arm, turned me around, and kissed me. To kiss her back was a terrible thing to do. I-I'm sorry, Tohru.
"Yuki…I don't know what to say." Tohru sighed.
Yuki's forehead was now against hers. "Say you believe me."
Tohru stared into his eyes for a second.
"Also, please say that you'll be my girl." Yuki whispered moving even closer, and then he closed the space between them with a kiss.
After the kiss, Tohru smiled and said, "Yes! Yes, Yuki Sohma, I would love to be your girl."
Yuki gave her one of his rare, honest smiles that could make any Yuki fan club member pass out to Tohru. He put out his hand and helped her up.
"C'mon, it's already four- fifteen." He said.
"Ok."
So they walked home together, hand-in-hand.
