Because Loving Hurts
Miroku tucked his legs under him and leaned back against the tree. Looking up to the stars, he sighed. After a moment, he became aware of light footsteps and the swish of baggy clothes. Inuyasha dropped down next to him. "Something the matter, monk?"
"No, not really. Just thinking about my life and wondering what it will become." Miroku stated quietly. At this, Inuyasha gaped.
"You sure you're alright, monk?" He asked, thumping the side of Miroku's head with his fingers.
Pushing Inuyasha's hand away, Miroku answered in a near whisper. "Perfectly fine, aside from the fact that the woman I love hates me."
Sitting down, Inuyasha said in an undertone, "That makes two of us."
Silence reigned for a few moments between the two. Finally, Miroku spoke. "Why is it that life treats us such? It gives us hearts we cannot hold and a life we cannot live."
"I don't know, monk. Maybe it's a curse."
"I know my problem is this curse." Miroku said, holding up his cursed hand and looking at it remorsefully. Standing, he walked across the small brook. Inuyasha, not one to be left behind, jumped after him. They walked for a few moments. Nearing the village they had stopped near, they heard someone singing.
Life is strange
It is a blessing
And a curse
It gives and takes
It gives hearts
To those that cannot hold
Life to those
That cannot live
I am so scared
So tired
Of not living
Not loving
What is this life
Supposed to be
I live in a
BrOkEn ReAlItY
Nothing really lasts
It all passes away
Never can stay
Where I want to be
Shifting
Changing
Never really there
I am so broken
So torn
My heart is tired
Of not loving
What is this life
Supposed to be
I live in a
BrOkEn ReAlItY
Do not know
Where I am gonna land
Where I will be
When someone stops
Breaking my
Reality...
Because lovin' you
Hurts...
Miroku and Inuyasha blinked. It was strange, but that song was their cry. Turning to walk back to camp, Miroku looked back. Because loving you hurts...
I-I-I-I-I-I
