Give me a simple smile
Chapter 1: Prologue
A childish-faced ninja sat on the floor with his hands between his widely spread legs. "Where's that baa-chan? She's too late!" he kept complaining and repeating the same words.
"Shut up, Naruto! I'm tired of hearing that! I've told you she's having an important meeting with the elders!" a pink-haired kunoichi yelled with peeve. Another ninja in his jounin uniform sighed and continued his 'never-finished' book.
"Sorry for making you waiting," an old lady entered the room.
Naruto stood up with a jump and grinned. "Hey, hey, what mission? What?"
Tsunade pulled a chair and sat down. "This is an A+ rank mission." The blond ninja grinned wider. "Orochimaru is going to once again attack Konoha. According to the message we got from Inazuka Kiba, he'll attack about twenty four hours from now. Your mission is to stop Uchiha Sasuke. You've been one team with him, so you must know his abilities well. Especially you, Kakashi," the Fifth nodded at the white-haired jounin. Kakashi replied with an annoyed look.
Both Naruto and Sakura looked visibly shocked. Naruto clenched his fists. "Do you mean…he's going to attack his own village?" his body trembled greatly. Tsunade said nothing but a nod.
"Sakura…what do you feel about him now?" Tsunade asked boldly.
"E..eh? I…" Sakura stuttered.
"If you still like him, it's better if you reject this mission. This is for the village, everyone depends on you." A raged look clashed in the Kyuubi kid's eyes. "I know, Naruto. This is evil. But this determines the village's live. This is the time you understand truly what is a shinobi world. Probably we aren't tools, but we have to put away our feelings sometimes, for something we must protect."
Kakashi closed his book and tapped the orange-suited ninja's head. "We're receiving the mission right, Naruto, Sakura?"
"Shizune…" Tsunade called her student.
"Yes….Tsunade-sama?"
"Did he…really die?"
Shizune nodded, looking deeply sad. "This is sad to say, but Inazuka Kiba had died. And his wound…"
"Chidori?" Tsunade turned her head from the window.
The dark-haired kunoichi nodded. "The murder is Uchiha Sasuke…"
