GSR Sonnets

A/N: I doubt Sara is much of a sonnet-writer... Probably more into free verse. However, I started to write Grissom's notebook about Sara in my story, Learning to Fly, and here are some other pieces, all my own, that I thought he might write. Reading LtF is not necessary to understand these.

1

Bright sparkling stars, dancing in timeless, vast skies,

Earth's rivers strong, lovely pastures of green,

All have no measurement with you and I,

As our beings meld in raptures unseen;

Not two but one, our mutual soul cries

In pains of need, of want, of love, of wish

And as cherubic strings lace with our sighs

Wounds heal, we fill, with the heat of our kiss.

Our minds entwine, combine, piecing a whole—

Coalescing—our hearts have woven one;

Our spirit lit, an unwavering coal

Meant as such since before time had begun.

I into you, just as you into me.

I find my strength and solace within thee.

2

Thine eyes meet mine, embracing, lock'd in gaze

And neither knows the other's end or start--

Surpassing mortal realm, both spun in haze

And join'd without constraint, heart bath'd in heart.

Flesh melds with flesh, oneness gain'd twixt our souls;

Thy self in mine, bright bliss does shake the sky;

As stars then tumble to our skin, the molds

Now broke, replaced by silken web and sighs.

Now whole, aride waves flying freely in light

That stretches infinitely; Awed, drowning

In each to each, and soaring. Minds in flight,

Our beings swirl'd as one wild wind, singing.

Blended as one; such timeless treasure found!

Entwined in silver soul strings, forever bound.

3.

As if your soul had darkened with my own

Despondent, ill-excuse for life and breath,

Aflame, I pushed at you, feeling alone

In my destructive quest to put to death

Our fledgling bond, still raw, a yearling fresh,

Who wobbles in the insecure meadow,

Her neck stretched taut, eyes fearing human flesh:

The guns, the bows, the harshness of shadows.

I heard the smile in your voice as you tried

To tame my stiff, neurotic tendancies,

It failed, however, to reach one green eye.

I felt my heart drop to my trembling knees.

It figures. Say it will last—I dare you.

I will just kill it, as I always do.
