Disclaimer: I don't own Final Fantasy Tactics Advanced! And now I have no claim to even the cartridge, because I lost my copy!

Claen'tor: This is for the people who have beaten the game completely. Marche gets offered the job of Judgemaster. And he accepts. So I'm writing up my own version of what happened after the fact. Do read and review when you finish. Anyway... aannndd... FIC!
Chapter 1: A Life of My Own

I did a double-take.

"You want ME to be Judgemaster! Why?" I asked Cid after he offered me the Judge Sword.

"You are completely capable, and your sense of justice is quite strong. I would entrust this sword of the law to no one else. In case you didn't notice, you are able to defeat the other judges far faster than I could have done on my own. And you can definitely defeat me in combat. There are none who would say you couldn't," the older man said, taking a puff of his pipe.

"I still have my clan to watch out for. What would they say if I suddenly became Judgemaster?" I asked, slightly stunned.

"They had no objection to me. And I could stay a member of Clan Crash, so they wouldn't have to worry about red cards or even yellows for that matter. I'm well aware that they mainly liked me for that reason, and I'll be able to use those abilities when I relinquish the Judge Sword," he replied.

He had a point. And besides, I'd still be able to see them, right?

"Or I could appoint the members of Clan Crash to become your honor guard. That way, you would be able to be around them as much as you like."

"I like that idea. Then Montblanc could be a Judge, right?"

"If you so wished it."

"He'll like that. He always wanted to be a Judge." I thought of my moogle friend in full armor and grinned.

"Since you've argued your case so advantageously, I'll accept. We don't have to have a formal ceremony, do we?" I asked, inwardly dreading any such occasion.

Cid sighed. "Unfortunately, yes. On Day 5 of Kingmoon. That means you have two moons to be just Marche, then you are Judgemaster..."

End dream
I woke up slowly, remembering that day one and a half moons ago. Ritz sighed and turned in her sleep. I watched her sleep for couple of minutes, then laid back down, protecting her in my embrace. Her white hair pooled under me, warming me with its touch. I kissed her on the cheek, and I saw her smile in her sleep as I slowly slipped back into slumber. The ceremony was in ten days and she was going to be my escort. I could see her now, resplendent in the gown the clanners had given her for her seventeenth birthday... I slept, waiting for whatever tommorrow would bring.

Claen'tor: What do you think? I know it was a little short, but it can't be helped. Please review!
