Cloud's Fall
"Paine! Wait up!" Yelled Cloud, approaching Paine. "Hey Cloud." Said Paine, with her head down. "What's wrong? You didn't even wait for me after sword pratice." "Sorry…I just needed to get going." "Where are you going off to this time? Paine, you can't just keep leaving like this! You didn't even leave a note or tell anyone!" "I told you." "Ya, but you weren't going to! I'm just trying to protect you…ok?" "Whatever." "That doesn't matter to you? Paine you've changed. A lot. What's happened over these years?"
"You really want to know?" Shouted Paine in Cloud's face. "Yes!" Yelled Cloud back. "Okay…I'll tell you. Remember when we were younger?" Asked Paine. "Of course." Said Cloud calmly as he sat down by a tree trunk and pulled Paine down next to him. "Well," Paine continued, "You know it took me awhile to well…grow up I guess you could say. Well, I was always picked by kids because of it…and one day some jerk crossed the line and I punched him in the face…then I later discovered that was you. Kind of funny isn't it? That I'm this way because you bullied me?"
Cloud was silent. "Ya. So…what does this have to do with you leaving…again?" "I have to build respect…in myself." Said Paine as she stood up and began to walk towards the forest. "Paine! Wait up!" Yelled Cloud as he ran to Paine. "Let me come with you." Paine just smiled. "Alright." Then, they stared their journey into the woods.
As they got towards the edge of the woods, they noticed something moving around in the up coming trees. "Stand back Paine." Said Cloud pulling out his sword. Paine ignored him and ran at the approaching beast. "Paine!" Shouted Cloud as the beast came running out of the woods! It was a huge monster with high attack points! Paine didn't stand a chance! But, this didn't slow Paine down! "Paine! Damn it! Don't go after it! It's to powerful! PAINE!" Cloud shouted as he ran for the monster! "Cloud! No!" Shouted Paine as Cloud jumped with his sword and then there was a silence…Paine stood in shock. The smoke cleared and Paine ran to the bloody mass of the beast "Ca…Cloud?" Paine hesitated as she knelt by the figure that was Cloud. "Pa…Paine…I love…you…" And Cloud was silent. Paine began to cry! Paine never cried…not ever when her family pasted away, but now she ran from her tears…she ran into the forest as fast as she could and didn't look back…ever.
