Love, War, and the American (1)
"Welcome back to Hogwarts, and welcome to Advanced Transfiguration." Professor McGonagall said, actually showing a small smile. Harry, Ron, and Hermione returned it. They were back after a long summer at Grimmauld Place. Harry was sad that Siruis was gone, but knew he had to press on. Siruis would have wanted Harry to move on. And Harry was starting to get happier. He had passed all but 2 of his O.W.L's, so he could become an Auror. Ron also did just a good as Harry, but it was Hermione who had passed every single test with an Outstanding. Ron and Hermione were in all of Harry's classes.
"So,
Let's get right to it! Everyone get out your wand, and each
get-"
There was a small knock at the door.
"Um, excuse me, but is this Mrs.McGonagall's class?" A voice came from the door.
Harry turned to see a tall teenage girl standing in the doorway. She had long brown hair, and bright blue eyes. She wasn't wearing a usual Hogwart's uniform, but a short pinstripe skirt and a matching jacket. She looked expectantly to Profeesor McGonagall.
"Yes, but who are you?"
"Well, first thank you for being Mrs. McGonagall. I've been all over this school looking for your class, and let me tell you, it wasn't easy! But I'm Issabella Montgomery. The forgein exchange student from America. Did you know I was coming?"
"Oh, yes!" McGonagall turned to the class. "Students, this is our exchange student from the New York Magic Academy in America!" She motioned for Issabella to sit next to Harry. "We were just about to transfigure poisonous snakes into chairs!"
Issabella walked over to Harry. "Hello, I'm Issabella Montgomery." She extened a hand.
"Hello, I'm Harry Potter. And these's are my friends Ron Weasly and Hermione Granger." They both shook hands with Issabella.
"So, why would it be helpful to transfigure the snakes into chairs?" McGonagall asked the class. Hermione's hand naturally shot up.
But so did Issabella's.
"Yes, Miss Montgomery?"
Hermione looked over, a look of shock on her face.
"Well, naturally, you would want to protect yourself from the snake, but also, if you're tired, then you can sit down!"
Chuckles went around the room.
"Well, yes! Correct! 10 point to, er, what house have you ben sorted into?" McGonasgall looked confused.
"I was sorted into Gryffindor."
"Then I am also your Head of House." McGonagall said. "Now everyone stand up, and we shall begin!"
After the snakes had been passed out, and all the people had one in a small cage, McGonagall gave the signal to transfigure the snakes. Hermione did hers in record time, but Issabella looked very pale, and quickly said the words of the spell, changing her snake into a comfortable arm chair, which she sank into, claiming that "She was tired."
