You don't run with the crowd, you go your own way

You don't play after dark, you light up my day

Got your own kind of style that sets you apart

Baby that's why you captured my heart

"Hey Ellie, a bunch of us are going to the movies tonight, you wanna come?" Ashley asked "No thanks, I'd really rather do something else" Ellie answered

"Oh, ok… I'll talk to ya later then" Ashley said walking back over to Paige and leaving Ellie alone at her locker. 2 lockers down stood Sean Cameron, and of course he overheard the conversation (it is high school after all…). When he heard what Ellie had said he subconsciously smiled. He had noticed her a few weeks ago. She wasn't like all the other girls, she was different… special. She didn't do what everyone else was doing, she liked to do stuff her own way and Sean (being the non-conformist that he is) really liked that.

I know sometimes you feel like you don't fit in

And this world doesn't know what you have within

When I look at you, I see somethin' rare

A rose that can grow anywhere

"Hey… what're you doin' here all alone?" Sean asked seeing Ellie sitting against her locker

"Nothing really… nothing else to do" she said looking over to where Paige was laughing and talking with Ashley. Ellie sighed and looked back down "I gotta go" she said grabbing her stuff and walking away. Don't worry about them Sean thought. You don't need to fit in… you're perfect the way you are

You got something so real, you touched me so deep

See material things don't matter to me

So come as you are you've got nothing to prove

You won me with all that you do

Ellie was up in her room when she heard the doorbell ring. It's probably just Ashley… why does she always have to borrow something for her dates with Craig?…well at least she goes on dates…Ellie thought as she walked down the stairs to open the door. "Sean? What are you doing here?" Ellie asked surprised. She half closed the door when she realized she was still in her PJs. "Can I come in?" Sean asked

"Oh… right… sorry… come in… make yourself at home… and hang on while I change…"

"You don't have to change… it's ok"

"Yes I do… I look like shit… I'll be right back"

"It's not gonna matter… you're hot no matter what you wear… even those weird… what are they? Lizard pajama bottoms?" Ellie smiled

"They're dragons, stupid" She said smacking his head and sitting next to him on the couch.

You don't know how you touched my life

Oh in so many ways I just can't describe

You taught me what love is supposed to be

You saw the little things that make you beautiful to me

"Hey Cameron ya comin' or what?" Jay asked from his car.

"Nah its me and Ellie's anniversary… we're gonna hang out" Sean answered

"Dude it's the concert of the year and you'd rather watch a boring movie with Ellie? Whatever man I'll catch you later" he said and drove off. A few months ago, Sean would've jumped in the car without hesitating but he wasn't the same Sean he was better… and it was all 'cause of Ellie.

"Hey El, do you know how much you've changed my life?" Sean said later that night. Ellie had come over and they were watching movies. When she heard his question, she lifted her head off his shoulder and looked at him "What're you talking' about? You're still stubborn Sean" she responded

"Well yeah… but I'm the new improved stubborn Sean" he said "You made me finally realize what love is supposed to be like…"

"Anybody could've done that Sean"

"No, it's you… you're different and you're special for it… I love you Ellie" Ellie blushed a little and smiled "I love you too Sean" she said and put her head back on his shoulder.

What makes you different makes you beautiful

What's there inside you shines through to me

In your eyes I see all the love I'll ever need

What makes you different makes you beautiful to me
