Yoshiro glided around the cemetery. Ever since he had died, eternity seemed longer than time itself. His only hope was that some day he might be at peace. He spun his twin daggers on his fingers as he walked, reflecting on his life, such as it had been.

He was forced to become a double-agent and kill his own king. After this he was killed by thirteen arrows to his head. He died, swearing revenge upon the king and upon Amidimaru.

END FLASHBACK

Deciding it was best not to sit around and mope, he headed out to the town. He entered a movie theater and watched a kung-fu movie. He left halfway through and "walked" through the park. He soon noticed a fight going on between two boys whom he recognized, Tao Ren and Yoh Asakura. Seeing Yoh's over-soul, he stiffened, but calmed down as he knew there was nothing he could do to the monster who condemned him to death by wounding his legs. Seeing that it could be fun to watch, he glided over to the officicant and asked him, "Who's winning?"

Silva, though shocked by his sudden appearance, replied, "Hard to tell, it could go both ways. Yoh seems to have the upper hand, but Ren has a much stronger over soul."

"I see…" Yoh ducked under a "Bason golden double sledgehammer" and yelled out, "Amida-ryu imploding faux blade!" Harsume cloned itself and Yoh threw the new blade at Ren. His sword blew up causing Ren's over-soul to disappear. Ren cursed and summoned another over-soul but was almost out of mana, so he could only integrate Bason into his blade in his most basic form.

Ren mounted his horse and swung his blade at Yoh's sword, chipping the tip. Suddenly, a white glowing substance started streaming out of the blade slowly, like smoke coming off a put-out candle. "You're finished Yoh! A broken blade will leak out your mana within a minute."

"Then I guess I'll have to beat you before then, Ren!" Ren dodged many blows until Yoh stuck his blade into the ground. His mana snaked across the area and slowly, everything glowed white. "Super shockwave buda-giri!" Yoh cried. Thousands of shockwaves shot at Ren, causing him to fall to the massive beating. He dropped his blade, and fell un-conscious. Bason, still integrated, couldn't do a thing as Yoh chanted a sutra and sent him down to hell. "Looks like I win."

Ren woke up hours later. He won. The slacker won. Even worse, he destroyed my ghost ally. What am I going to do? "Need a hand?" Yoshiro asked.

"Who are you?"

"I'm an old friend of Amidimaru's…sort of. I'm willing to become your spirit ally, I have to get back at him. I know I can get you through the shaman fight, and help you win!"

"How do I know how strong you are?" Ren inquired.

"Well, let's put it this way. You organize an exhibition match with any shaman you want. Integrate me with a pair of kitchen knives for all I care, I'll still win. Or, go for my best weapon, the black beast. It's a sword a foot wide and ten feet tall. I can beat Amidimaru with anything, even a staff. I'm highly proficient with the black arts and I can summon demons at the blink of an eye." Yoshiro explained.

"I'm in. Meet me here tomorrow. I'll round up a few shamans and you can take them on. I'll get you your black beast if you win. Tomorrow, you can get a katana."
