hopefully somebody will read this I loved Monster Rancher when I was younger but unfortunately they took it off the air :( but anyway hope whoever reads this likes it so here we go

The former thief sat by himself as he watched his sleeping team mates, they had been as supportive as they could after the loss of Grey Wolf and for that he was grateful. He was not yet over the loss of his little brother and even though his new pack gave him his space he still felt like he was suffocating from the pain. He knew that Grey Wolf would never come back to him because his disk was destroyed in their battle and Tiger couldn't help but feel responsible for it.

"Grey, I need you. I have no use here I just wish I could have a second chance at being a good older brother. I'm sorry I let you down when I promised I'd always protect you please forgive me," he said into the wind hoping his brother could hear him.

Far off unknown to the blue wolf monster his brother heard his plea and came to him his ghost catching him off guard.

"Why do you blame yourself brother for something you could not prevent. Believe it or not there are others who need you more then I to watch over." Grey Wolf said staring at the shocked Tiger who really wasn't expecting to see to see his dead brother again.

"Who could possibly need me? Everyone around me can take care of themselves besides they aren't family," the blue monster exclaimed

"Maybe not by blood but you do care for them right?" the silver wolf asked.

Tiger could only nod his head in agreement feeling as though he was betraying his sibling by daring to care for his new pack.

"Then that is what makes you and your friends a family. My brother your wish has been granted and I leave you now to take your second chance at being a big brother to someone who needs it the most. Farewell Tiger may you live long and happy," the apparition said smiling gently.

Tiger watched as Grey Wolf disappeared but as he did he heard his brother's voice whisper into his ear.

'Don't screw it up'

Tiger couldn't help but smile at what his brother said and as he returned to his friends to fall asleep he replied," don't worry I won't."

As he drifted off into a peaceful slumber the blue wolf wondered contently how his brother planned on giving him his second chance.

The next morning the group woke up to the sound of someone's scream and looked around franticly to see who the screams belonged to. The only girl in the group Holly looked to see a small boy with big brown eyes. The boy wore a white t-shirt and brown shorts that reached his knees, his messy brown hair was covered by the orange baseball cap that was far too large for his head.

Holly slowly walked over to him and kneeled down to his height and as gently as possibly said," hello what's your name?"

"G-Genki," he said quietly as everyone looked absolutely shocked

"Can you tell me how old you are?" she asked him

"I'm five," he said holding up all five of his fingers.

Hare looked over to where Genki usually slept and found it empty and looked around noticing their friend wasn't there.

"This isn't possible," Tiger said growling which scared the kid even more causing him to hide behind Holly.

"Believe it Tiger cause in case you haven't noticed Genki isn't here." Holly said before she turned her attention back to the small boy and asked.

"Genki do you remember who I am?" the teenage girl asked the boy who just shook his head in reply.

"I've never met any of you in my entire life," he said

"I can't believe he doesn't remember us, I wonder what happened to him," Suezo said approaching the shrunken Genki.

Tiger stopped and thought about what Suezo just said then what Grey Wolf told him the night before he began growling even louder.

"THIS IS NOT WHAT I HAD IN MIND BROTHER," Tiger screamed into the sky frightening his friends, Genki clutched onto Holly so tight it his knuckles were turning white.

"Tiger stop it you're scaring him more than anything," she said sternly

"You are safe with us no one here wants to hurt you ok?" Holly explained to the terrified little boy and smiled gently as he nodded still scared out of his mind of tiger and the others.

"C'mon Genki, you can help me make breakfast," Holly said taking his hand and leading him towards the camp site trying to make Genki feel as comfortable as possible.

Genki just looked up at her and smiled at the girl that was being so nice to him. Holly couldn't help smiling back at the adorable child.

As they walked away Suezo looked at Hare and Moochi and said," this is gonna be a long day."
