A/N- This is set after 'The Return of the King', where Legolas and Gimli have gone
exploring etc as it said in the book, but fails to mention in the film- even in the
extended/new version! (Except for a little clip somewhere during something
one of the crew's saying.) Words used i.e. Perendhil, Quenya, and Áre and in
the appendices.
Disclaimer- I am Tolkien in disguise! (Whatever- I own nothing except what I
own! (Hee hee!))
On with the story!
Prologue- Return to Minas Tirith.
"Where are we going, Legolas?" Gimli asked his elf friend after they had been travelling for days. He didn't expect an answer; Legolas had stopped speaking the day they set off, frowning and nodding in response to Gimli.
"Minas Tirith," replied the elf.
"We are?" Chuckled the dwarf, rubbing his stomach in anticipation of the feast he hoped Aragorn would prepare in their honour.
When they finally had Minas Tirith in their view, Legolas paused and thought back to twenty years ago, when he had last seen the King.
Past
"Legolas Greenleaf."
Legolas turned at his friend's voice.
"Arwen and I are to have a son, then a daughter. Arwen and Elrond have both foreseen it."
Unsure as to how to respond to this, Legolas nodded. "Congratulations."
Aragorn inclined his head and smiled at the elf. "I need you to do something for me."
"Anything," Legolas was quick to reply.
"Stay away."
Legolas frowned. "My Lord?"
"Stay away for twenty years. Then come back." Aragorn smiled and clasped the prince's shoulder. "Good luck on your journey. Tell Gimli goodbye, he has already gone on ahead he is so eager."
"I will. Goodbye, my friend."
Present
Well, he was back- just as he'd promised. For what reason he did not know.
A/N- Okay, I know it's a bad ending, but I haven't had a lot of time lately. Before
this week I've had essays and coursework- some of which I still have. Then,
also, this week I have one or two exams everyday which bleeds onto the week
after which is the week my coursework is due in and I have A-Level German
speaking exams! The week after that, my nine other exams start!
Thank god my dad's coming for a visit in between the two weeks, with my
German exchange partner coming soon after!
