This is a poem I wrote from Tohru's point of view before she meets the Sohmas. Do you think it's good enough to send into the publishing company that translates the mangas to English? I've seen worse poems published in the 'Fans Basket.' Maybe if I drew something to go with it…
The spacing didn't work, so i put something on the lines in between stanzas to make it look right.
A Prayer to my Mother

Mother, why did you leave me now?
Didn't you know that I'm not strong enough to continue?
I know it's foolish, but I still believe that somewhere, somehow,
You're watching over me, just as I would have watched over you.

I asked someone, they said you were in the air,
But the air isn't very near.
I asked again, and they said only, "Somewhere."
But why somewhere when you could be here?

In my heart of hearts,
I know it's my fault.
But that's not yet on the charts,
So I'll keep it hidden in my secret vault.

I know I'm in denial,
But I hope that you can forgive, if not forget,
For me every moment is a trial,
I don't know the answers yet.

Oh, but mother, I'm having trouble coping,
And I'm struggling to smile,
Though I may not appear to be moping
I might only be able to keep this up for a little while.

I'm trying not to be a burden,
So maybe I'll go live alone.
