"Last call for Bristol Express!"

Alphonse Elric boarded the train, looking behind him at his brother Edward, who was arguing with the conductor after a misinterpretation of the phrase "small chappie."

"Come on, niisan, the train is leaving!" Al said, exasparated.

Ed, seeming to notice the train for the first time, quickly abandoned the quarrel and followed Al inside the train.

"Good night, niisan."

Al looked over to his brother, only to find he was already asleep.

Al, himself, could not sleep. Being a big suit of armor kind of limited you. Not to mention the constant number of people who would stare at him and Ed whenever they went through a new town.

"Al, you don't have to worry anymore. I found a way to bring mommy back!"

Yes, the root of their troubles. They ahd broken the law by attempting to bring their mother back, and the cost was tremendous.

Though his face remained expressionless, inside Al imagined what his face would look like. He longed for his human body again. He longed to feel the grass beneath his feet, to taste the chocolate cookies his mom used to make, to be able to feel the soft fur of one of his kittens.

He looked to ed, and he reached out to touch him. But he couldn't tell the difference between his hair and his face.

"I want, to feel," he said to himself. "That's all I want. Just to feel."
