Death's Lament:

Companion Story to Echoes of the Void:

The Night Voldemort fell for the first time…

Lily's Point of View…

Harry Potter does not belong to me… Lord Avatar does…

>>

No! Not James! Not Harry! Take me, take me instead!

Lily ran up the stairs to her child's room. Her baby boy! So much on his shoulder in so little time… She did not even get to enjoy her time with him. His first words were only weeks before, his first steps even shorter.

But now he was here…

She heard a muffled thump from downstairs. She nearly broke down crying. James… Oh James…

Not now. Now's not the time.

His eyes watched the immense form of the corrupt deity with undisguised anger and power. Black fire blossomed from his hands, and a scream of pure rage bellowed from his throat. "She fell…" was the only thought in his mind. Black fire covered his body, and he descended upon the vast darkness that was Hsarus.

The misshapen form that was his daughter, Shakura, was dissipating rapidly. The massive burst of chaos rage and energy that decimated her body was slowly disappearing.

His rage reached the boiling point as the mocking laughter of the tainted god filled his mind.

He dove with a scream of fury, cloaked in billowing flames of chaos and destruction, right into the planet-sized form of the god.

>

"Move aside, stupid girl. Move aside…"

"No! Not Harry! Take me, take me instead."

"Avada Kedavra."

Thump!

No! Stay away from him! Oh Harry!

>>

He impacted the form of the Chaos God. His body shattered, so did the Chaos God's corrupt form. His spirit was thrown out of the Universe's walls. The God's shattered, together with the Void presence possessing him.

>>

Bellatrix Lestrange gasped at the chaos energy hammering down her shields. The last thing she remembered was the cruel eyes of the man she reluctantly called "husband" for the sake of her Lord and one word: Imperio.

>>

Narcissa Malfoy did not feel the hammering. The chaos directly penetrated into her mind. She did not hear the spell spoken in the throes of unimaginable pain: Imperio.

>>

Lily's spirit would have gasped in pain if she could breathe. Something, coursed through her, and she felt a silvery blue beam shot from her to her child, as she followed, with tearful eyes, the green beam of the Killing Curse to her beloved son's forehead.

The curse impacted him.

The blue beam impacted at the same time.

Lily watched as the blue blast of light traveling up an invisible bond through her, to her son, through the Killing Curse, into the deformed thing that was Voldemort.

She cringed in pain as a tug pulled her spirit from the material plane. The last thing she heard was the blaring cries of her child, very much alive, and the cry of agony of the Dark Lord.

A moment later, her eyes opened to look into the concerned eyes of her Lord and her friend Janice. He spoke, softly.

"He will survive, Lily. And we will return to him. For I promised you immortality."
