Loneliness is a funny thing
At first
It makes you feel safe
Away from the people
Who have plagued your heart
With so much pain
You pretend nothing wrong
Like you don't care
When really
You're broken inside
It consumes you
So you can't escape
My lonely days continue to haunt me
With an image of you
Smiling from the pits of hell
No matter what I do
I still feel alone
And let my pain
Dwell in my heart
