My heart
Weeps every night
But I continue ignore
The silent cries
That echoes through my being
The demons continue
To build the icy barrier
So I can never feel
The warmth and love
I was once given
The demons in my heart
Continue to consume
What's left of my former self
Leaving me
To what I am today
A heartless person
Who feels no warmth or love
Whose unhappiness
Runs deep
That no one will ever see
