DISCLAIMER: I don't own anything related to the show Smallville. This was just a short little thing that I was thinking about and had to get out of my head. In reality I hope the Allison Mack never leaves the show cause she rocks! Enjoy the short little fic.
The moment had finally arrived. Chloe Sullivan was leaving Smallville to return to Metropolis to start a new chapter in her life. All through High School Clark had put it out of his mind. He just wanted to enjoy the time that they had together and not think about the future, what would be happening after graduation.
Clark heard footsteps coming up the steps into the loft. He looked up from his book and saw his beautiful petite blonde best friend Chloe standing before him. She had a sad smile spread across her face and was holding a box full of items that she had borrowed from him over the years and never returned. She walked over to Clark, sat the box down on the table, and took a seat next to Clark.
"What's all this stuff?"
"Just some things that I either borrowed or swiped from you that I thought I should return before I leave."
A sharp pain hit Clark's chest when he heard her say the word leave. He diverted his attention to the contents of the box and let a soft laugh escape from his mouth as he picked up the different items. Memories of him and Chloe raced through his head as he lightly traced his fingers over an ancient set of cassette tapes, an old walkman, a few worn out paper back books, and a Smallville High T-Shirt. He looked up at Chloe's face and they shared a sweet moment both remembering the ups and downs of their friendship. Chloe stood up and Clark did the same.
"Well I better get going. I have a long drive ahead of me." Chloe said.
"I'm going to miss you, a lot Chloe."
"The feeling is very mutual Clark, but hey I'll see you on holidays and whenever I come back to visit my dad."
"Yeah you're right."
Clark reached out for Chloe's hand and pulled her into a warm embrace that lasted for a few minutes. He didn't want to let go but he knew that he had to. Chloe finally broke away from him.
"I got to get going."
"Bye Chloe."
Chloe turned around and began to leave. Clark couldn't watch her walk away so he turned and looked out the window, staring out at the fields.
"Hey Clark." Chloe said turning back around and walking towards him.
Clark turned to look at her and was taken aback when he felt her arms go around his neck and her lips close over his. He was a little surprised at first but he kissed back, enjoying the feeling of their bodies pressed together and her lips against his. Chloe broke away from the kiss and watched a genuinely happy smile creep across his face.
"What was that for?" Clark asked.
Chloe shot him a playful smile and said, "I know you've been thinking about it all day so I figured that we would just get it out of the way and be friends."
Clark laughed remembering the day he first met Chloe and she came up to the loft with him. They were standing in the very same spots when she had given him his first kiss and said those same exact words. Clark pulled Chloe in for another quick hug and gently kissed her on the cheek. She softly touched her hand to his cheek and gave him one of those famous smiles that could light up the night sky. He watched as she turned around and walked down the steps. In only a few minutes she was gone. He collapsed down onto the couch and touched his fingers to his lips, savoring the tingly feeling from their kiss. He let out a pleased sigh and began counting the seconds until Chloe would come back to visit again.
