You are sitting on the bed, shaking, wondering where you will end up in an hour. He is leering at you, smirking, making you want to close your eyes and then open them, finding yourself at home.
You're supposed to be eating popcorn and watching late night T.V. shows with Manny, laughing. Not trying to hold your tears in as some creepy man fingers your skin.
" Emma, you smell so sweet," he whispers and you shudder. He is touching your hair and you feel like strangling him with it. His fingers go up and down your arm, and you want to cry.
Memories of you laughing, crying, singing, yelling flash through your brain. You can see your mom's face as she finds you dead in a ditch.
His hands are cold. His eyes are cold. And his heart is cold. You shiver, feeling the innocent warmth of your soul flicker out.
You shake your feet, replacing it as a motion to run. You hear footsteps pounding in the hallway, and you desperately want to scream out, but like he said... he'll tape your mouth.
Someone bangs on the door. " EMMA!"
" MOM!" you shout, feeling a huge wave of relief pass over you, knowing that some way or another, you will make it out alive tonight.
" OPEN THE DOOR!" your mother screams, crying, banging harder.
" OPEN THE DOOR, EM!" you hear Mr. Simpson yell, trying hard to knock it down.
Feeling bold and determined, you scream and bite Jordan's hand, doing a flip over the bed, running as if your life depends on it. Which, ironically, it does.
You fiddle with the locks, faster, clumsier, seeing him get closer to you. You open the door and run out, trying to get as far away as possible.
" Emma, are you okay?" your mom fearfully asks you and you gulp and shake your head no. She backs away slowly, tears filling in her eyes, and casts an angry glare at Jordan. Mr. Simpson looks furious, and slams Jordan against the wall. You hope its hurting him.
Mr. Simpson is saying something and the police are running down the hall, but you don't hear.
Your heart is pounding too loudly, and you are shaking too much.
And, as a tear rolls down your cheek, you realize you have lost your innocence.
