Sanity Hiding
Insanity Two
Why do you do it?
Watch me, I mean
Like you are now
Through the window pane
But you don't see me
The one inside
The outer shell
Wherein I hide
You see, you can't
See me through glass
Or charts, or tests
Or paper masks
You can analyze me
You can study me
The outer flesh
The crazy body
Blood won't tell you
Did you know?
Hours of examination
And nothing to show
She's crying
But I'm not
She's snapped
But that's all you've got
Because you can question me
Through metal bars
Check my pulse
The beat of my heart
But you won't find
This little me
Because I'm deep inside
Far inside
Hiding-
And I'm her sanity.
