In the Snow
Summary: "Wendy is dancing in the snow." A fun little bit of Joker/Wendy fluff that almost made me wish for snow. Post-ROD the TV.
Disclaimer: They're Kurata's toys; I'm only borrowing them. I promise to bring them back, safe and sound, when I'm done.
Wendy is dancing in the snow.
He watches, astonished, through the window as she whirls about the walkway cleared by the shovel lying discarded in the snow.
Whirling through the soft, softly falling snow, short pale hair fanning out in the sharp, chill air, arms out, head back, catching snowflakes on her lips and cheeks and eyelashes.
Wendy is spinning and dancing in the snow.
Joseph is laughing in the snow.
She didn't hear the front door open or click softly shut when he came out for a closer look at her sudden descent into delightful insanity, didn't hear or see him approach from the front porch.
And when her eyes lit on him mid-whirl, she gave a startled, dismayed shriek, cheeks already stung to pinkness by the cold flushing more brightly with embarrassment.
And then another shriek, startled and dismayed again as the heel of her boot caught on a jagged clump of ice and she toppled backwards into the snow bank, next to her shovel.
Joseph is laughing, gently and kindly, in the snow.
Joseph and Wendy are kissing in the snow.
Her slightly nervous bewilderment when he approached made him laugh again, softly, as he reached for her hand and hauled her out of the snow.
He brushes away the melting flakes forming sparkling droplets on her hair already curling slightly from moisture, and she grips his upper arms tightly as he leans closer and she can feel his breath against her cheek.
And now the snowflakes on her lips are melting from the heat of his, and as his tongue darts out to collect the tiny droplets, he can taste her soft sigh.
Joseph and Wendy, oblivious to the rest of the world, are kissing in the snow.
End Notes: I think this is probably the shortest thing I've got posted here! Anyway, this is another little bit that I had up on my Livejournal, and liked enough to bring here. It's cutesy and sappy – far too much for either of these characters – but I thought it was kind of pretty, too.
