Sally's Wish

Disclaimer: I don't own The Nightmare Before Christmas

Kudos to everyone who reviewed my last story, My Unwanted Future. I got some requests to write another story, so I am. Now for the story.

You were always the one

The one I longed to hold

But no one knew of this

My secret couldn't be told

I have never cared for another

The way I care for you

I've loved you from the start

And I hoped you loved me too

I still remember the day we met

Upon that spiral hill

The first time you smiled at me

My heart had gone still

From then on, I watched you

You, the pumpkin king

I watched as you scare, laugh, and smile

And all those lonely songs you sing

Oh Jack, It was like the same song every night

But you didn't see

All those songs from the bottom of your heart

I thought were about me

They reminded me of myself

And how I was locked away

To be a slave and nothing more

Till the end of my days

But you came and rescued me

Because of you I'm saved

You led me to the cemetery

Where I found the deadly night shade

We saw each other more and more

Practically all the time

Until I returned home at night

To be punished for my crime

It happened like this every night

In our town of Halloween

Until one night you disappeared

Never to be seen

The next day you returned

The town hall was filled with sound

The whole nightlong you showed us

All the Christmas stuff you found

Everyone was excited

But not too thrilled

I could tell something was wrong with you

You always seemed so chilled

You'd paced in that tower

For days on end

Until you announced

That Christmas would be ours to send

I tried to make you see

That it was wrong what you were doing

But when I tried to explain

I ended up sewing

You're taking off tonight

Everyone's heart full of glee

I cried "No!"

But you didn't hear me

So, Good-bye Jack

My love for you will always be

And even thought you will be changed after tonight

My only wish is to see you happy (with me)
