No One

Disclaimer: No I don't own Full Metal Alchemist, there just my slaves. O ok Mr./Mrs. Creator person, so I don't own them but can't you share?

"Well you've been gone a long time," Al said as Ed walked into the door of their room in Central.

"Yea, well Winry took a long time to fix automail for me."

Ed and Alphonse had recently gotten back from one of their misleading chases for the Phlosispher'sStone. During this journey of theirs, Edward dented automail badly in his sprawl with Scar. When they got back, Ed brought Al to their room and left for Winry's house to get it fixed.

"Al, what's wrong? You look a little glum."

"Well...it's just that... I wish... I had a new life."

"What do you mean by that? You don't want me as your brother? Why not? What did I do wrong?"

"Nothing, you did nothing wrong and yes, I do want you as my brother. What I mean is that I don't want to be a suit of armor, I don't want you to be full metal, and I don't want to be without a mother and a father. Well, I guess all what I want is to be any normal teenage kid with an older brother, a mother, and a father."

"Well, Al, I want all of those things too, but, unfortunately, that won't happen now will it? Until then you just have to look on the bright side. Ok Al?"

"Why; are you trying to make me become an optimist?"

'No, that's not what I meant Al. When I said to look on the bright side, I meant for you to look at all the good things in life and ignore all the bad stuff that has ever happened."

"I don't know. I'm afraid that I can't."

"What's that supposed to mean?"

'Well, there's more bad stuff that has happened to us than good brother."

"Yea Al, I know. Well, in that case, how about trying to change your life as much as you can."

"Well with all that we do, there's little to no room left for change."

At this there was a long moment of silence, not only in their room, but it seemed like all of central must have fallen silent. It was an awkward silence that lasted for almost three minutes before Ed decided to break the silence.

"Well, just try to open up all of the blinds and curtains in your life."

"I don't know, but I can try," Al said a little confused by what Ed meant by that.

"Ok then, I'm tired so I'm going to sleep. I'll see you tomorrow."

And with that, Ed fell asleep on the sofa leaving Al to ponder on what Ed had just recently told him.

Al decided to take the advice that his brother had given him and realized that there really is more to life then what he thought. And with that, he was no longer depressed and wanting a new life. He also realized that no one but yourself can change your own life.
