A/N: I own nothing. Just a bit of fluff, not really a point to it.

And I almost had you
But I guess that doesn't cut it
Almost had you
And I didn't even know it

-Bowling for soup

Danny's cell phone chirped annoyingly.

"Messer." He answered curtly.

Flack's voice answered. "Ya' gotta' do somethin' about her, man."

"Who?"

"Aiden."

"What'd she do?"

"Beat the crap outta' one a' my guys."

"Seriously?"

"Yeah. Man, she was wailin' on him."

"I'll be there in' a few."

"Ya' just don't do that.' He said, pacing. Aiden was holding an icepack to her face.

"He shouldn't make stupid sexist comments."

"Ya' didn't have to clock the guy."

"It's pretty excellent, though, isn't it?"

Danny glanced over at Officer Grey, who had a rather large purple- yellow bruise with a cut in the shape of a ring.

"Yeah."

"See?"

"But, still, ya' don't just start beatin' on the guy."

"Hey, he hit me back. It's not my fault I know how to fight like a fucking Tasmanian devil. He started it."

"I know, I'll take care of it."

"Officer Grey?" Danny asked, even though it was quite obviously him.

"Yeah."

"I just wanted to know where ya' got off hittin' a woman."

"Excuse me?"

"Why did ya' hit her?"

"Man, she hit me first."

Danny glared at the little punk; he must have been around 20.

"You eva' hit her again, and I'll have ya' badge taken away, so help me God."

He turned and walked away.

Aiden was curled up next to Danny at his apartment, sleeping, as he should probably be doing. He just looked at her in awe, not quite believing that he almost didn't ask her out that one night 3 months ago. She was absolutely perfect. Her long eyelashes grazed her cheeks softly, he could see her eyes moving beneath the lids, and he could tell she was dreaming. He pulled her closer to him and buried his face in her shoulder. Hefell asleep, hoping he wasn't ever going to have to threaten a cop again.
