Chapter 1

Jerry felt bad that Elaine had to move. She had finally moved into the same building as him, and he was happy. He didn't mind her dropping into his apartment all the time, and now she had to go. He went up stairs and knocked on her door.

"It's open" she called out from the couch. He opened it slowly. The room was dark and she sat on the single couch, no other furniture had come yet, which was good in a way.

"Hey" he said as he came around.

"Hey" she said quietly sipping her drink.

"What are you doing?" he asked as he sat next to her.

"Just looking around, imagining where the rest of my furniture would have gone" she half smiled. He nodded and looked around himself.

"I'm sorry you have to go. I was excited that you were going to move closer to me" he told her still looking away.

"Yeah. I really was excited you know? I was going to be closer to my job, closer to the city. Be nearer to George and Kramer, and you" she said as he turned to her.

"Well, no matter where you are you know your welcome at my place" he told her and she nodded.

"I know" she said getting up.

"You want a drink?" she asked.

"Sure" he said as he got comfortable on the couch. She came back quickly and sat next to him. She smiled as she gave him the drink.

They sat for awhile, talking and reminiscing about crazy and fun times they've had. It wasn't like she was moving away far, it was just this was his chance to be closer to her. He wanted to be closer to her. And now… he wasn't so sure. The two of them laughed and were up till three joking and having a good time.

"No, no, no, remember the time when you killed your aunt" she smiled.

"I didn't kill her. How was I supposed to know she had a pony" he argued. She smiled wider when he put his hand on her cheek. She looked at him unsure.

"I miss you a lot" he told her. She took in a deep breath as he started to lean in. She couldn't help but close her eyes as he kissed her. She took another deep breath as he pulled away. They looked into each others eyes for a minute when he finally took his hand away. It was quiet for only a minute when they got back to talking about their crazy lives. The night went on and both would agree that this would be one night they wouldn't forget.

Finished.
