.

The Lake of Truth. Many demons came by here, and the windmill village, to see it, to see what was happening in the battle.

But there was one demon who was cheering, silently and loudly, for a smaller demon who, after but a single day of knowing him, was like a younger brother.

I remember that day well, though it was long ago. Gash, at first, was an enemy. He was a demon, and his book keeper was probably hidden. But then he told me all he wanted was to see the Shemira Effigy. I stopped fighting after I believed this, and gave him one of Jiji's fish-shaped doughnuts.

Though the journey was short, the time I spent with Gash was fun. He is a good kid. I'm rooting for him.

I don't just watch Gash though. Sometimes I request the Headmaster to check up on Jiji for me. He misses me, but he's doing well. Though he didn't show it after I saved the Shemira Effigy at the cost of my book, he felt guilty. I don't think he should. I didn't, I mean, because the Headmaster allowed me to send a short message.

"I was glad to do it Jiji. Like I said, even though I lost before even one fight, I was happy. Thank you."

He didn't feel guilty after that, and like I said, now everyone is happy. I saved the Shemira Effigy at the cost of me possible kingship, but you know what?

I really don't care.

Cause when Gash wins, I don't think he'll forget about his brother.
