Broken Hearts Never Mend
1995
The sky was a dark gray, as the rain threatened to fall on the fresh pavement. It was one of those ugly days that no one wants to remember. But on this saturday morning, a phone was ringing. A fairly old woman came towards the phone clicking her heels every time she got closer. She answered the phone. After a while her bright smile began to sink into a drowning frown. She hung the phone up slowly. A young girl with auburn hair came running through the hallway and bumped into her Grandmother.
"Granny! Granny!" she squealed.
"Hey honey..." she said in a soft tone. The young girl looked around and realized her mother wasn't home.
"Granny?" she questioned.
"Yes dear." she replied in the same tone.
"Where's mommy?" she said innocently.
Her Grandmother just held onto her heart.
Present Day
Pantene brushed her red hair out of her face. Staring in the mirror, her reflection dissapointed her so she walked away. She heard yelling downstairs and just rolled her eyes. They were at it again. Her new foster parents were all about loud drunk fights. How she missed her grandmother so much was beyond belife. SHe heard a crash and just ran down the stairs to find her foster mom on the floor in a pool of blood. SHe stared blankly. Her foster dad just walked out of the house. She went to the nearest phone and dialed 991. She just sat on the stoop holding her head. Not bothering to revive her foster mom. It was abuse having become state property again. She should of known to leave. "Dumb blonde" she thought. The sirens came infront of the broken down house. She stated what happened and left with social services. While in the car she looked outside, this world is so cruel echoed in her head. She looked down and stared at a ring her mother left her. "Thanks mom! Thanks for leaving me and for dying for someone you didn't even know." she thought bitterly. She began to close her eyes and soon drifted in to a deep sleep.
In her dream
A white light filled the room and a brown haired woman came peering over the water. She stared blankly at her daughter then smiled.
"Panny?" she called out, Pantene just stared in awe. She ran and jumped into her mom's arms. She held on tight.
"There's much to discuss honey."
outside of the Dream
The car jolts and Pantene woke up hearing her mother's voice saying "Go to the attic"
