A/N: I own nothing. The song is by Regina Spektor, and it was used in the last episode.
Somedays aren't yours at all,
They come and go as if they're someone else's days,
And they're harsher than yours,
And they're colder than yours.
-Regina Spektor
Aiden blinked her eyes at the light that was poring through her window. She was covered with a fuzzy blanket, and she almost jumped out of her own skin when she saw Danny staring at her from across the room. His blue eyes were intensified by the blue shirt he was wearing, and Aiden swallowed slowly, and she wasn't entirely sure it was because she was so nauseous.
"Hi." She croaked unsteadily, risking a glance his way- he definitely looked a bit angry. She was about to say something else when she felt the bile come up her throat and she leapt up from her couch and made a run for the bathroom, ignoring her pounding headache. As she retched into the toilet, she felt her eyes fill with tears. Danny came up and crouched behind her, holding her long hair out of her face and the steady stream of vomit.
When she was done, Danny reached in front of her and flushed the handle.
"Come on party animal." He said, taking her by the arm. He ushered her into the kitchen, where she was greeted by two ibuprofen and a large glass of water, which she swallowed down gratefully.
He looked at her, and she made an effort to avoid his eyes.
"Come on, Aid, we've talked bout' this."
Her head shot up and she gave him a rather nasty look, although it was accompanied by very tired eyes.
"What I do is none a' ya' business."
"Yeah, Aid, if ya' hurtin' yourself, it is."
"Fuck off."
"Don't be like this."
"Like what? Offended that ya' diggin' into my personal life? Well, I am. Like I said before, Danny, It's none of ya' business what I do when I'm off the job."
She sneered at him and she turned to walk away. He grabbed her arm and spun her straight into his chest, his arm effectively pinning her into place. She could tell he was piping mad, but she also knew he wouldn't hurt her, ever.
His face had turned a sort of purple.
"No, ya' know what? Maybe if we were just partna's, it wouldn't be any of my Goddamn business." She could practically see the steam coming out of his ears.
"But after all the shit we've been through togetha' we've become a lot more than partna's, and I know that ya' know that too. I will not watch ya' destroy yourself. I refuse to just sit around and nothin' while ya' screw up ya' life. I care too damn much for that."
Aiden felt the tears streaming down her face, and in a move that surprised them both, he leaned down and captured her lips in his. The pent up tension between the two had finally exploded, and it was like lava- hot and scary, but at the same time, neither wanted it to stop. Aiden bit his lip, and he groaned into her mouth, grappling to get her closer to him, which was basically impossible. His hand grabbed her butt, and he slipped her tongue into his mouth, sending both of them stumbling for the bedroom, where they would finally get what had been a long time coming.
Maybe it wasn't perfect, and maybe they weren't perfect either, and maybe he'd have to work to fix it, to fix her, but he was willing, and he always had been.
A/N: So there it was- the very short sequel! Review, please!
