"Never Lick Automail in the winter"

Edward Elric sighed as well as he could as he tried in vain to remove his tongue from his automail. Major Legacy Bluesummers' incessant laughter was not doing anything to improve his mood. Lieutenant Colonel Jonathan Demmis just shook his head and sighed.

"Now how did this happen again?" Alphonse Elric sighed.

"It all started when the snow fell…"

Ed and Al watched as the snow fell outside the nearest coffee shop to the Einburg HQ.

"Wow…the road is gonna be a mess once this all stops…" The shopkeeper laughed and placed another coffee in front of Ed.

"This is nothing compared to the blizzard that hit this town when I was about your age…snow was clear up to the bottom of the second story in most of the town…yep…but the alchemists cleared it out right quick…"

"It was going well…until we went outside, that is…."

The snow was starting to drift and blow about when Ed and Al started back towards HQ. Al noticed that some of the snow was starting to pile up in Ed's hood, as well as on the automail arm.

"Nii-san, we'd better hurry before we get stuck in the snow…" Ed glanced back at his younger brother with a nod and a smile.

"Just a second, Al…I've heard that snow tastes different in the mountains…I want to see if it's true…" With that, Ed licked at some of the snow on his hand. When he tried to remove his tongue, however, he found that it had stuck fast.

"And that's what happened…" John shook his head.

"Didn't anyone ever tell you 'Never lick automail in the winter'?" Ed's glare was answer enough.
