Paradise

once upon a year gone by
she saw herself give in
every time she closed her eyes
she saw what could have been
well nothing hurts and nothing bleeds
when covers tucked in tight
funny when the bottom drops
how she forgets to fight... to fight

Pansy Parkinson had to look down as soon as she met his eyes.

"Do you promise to be a obeying servant to The Dark Lord? Do you promise to respect and serve The Dark Lord for eternity?"

With her empty eyes on the ground, Pansy answered obediently.

" Yes."

"What's wrong, Pansy?"

Pansy looked away, trying to hide her eyes brimming with tears from the concerned read-headed boy.

"Nothing."

Wiping her tear away quickly, she ran ahead of him, scooped up a handful of snow and threw it at the boy. She giggled as it hit a muffled Ron Weasly entirely on the face.

"What was that for?"

Trying to look mad, he threw back a snowball which missed Pansy entirely.

Smirking, Pansy shouted out.

"Too busy staring at my face, are you?"

She giggled again and ran away as Ron ran across the Hogwarts ground after her. With his long legs, he easily caught up with her and was about to throw his arms around her waist when Pansy suddenly turned around, causing them both to fall. Soon, they were rolling on the snow, laughing.

and it's one more day in paradise
one more day in paradise

Pansy fought the urge to whimper as the Dark Lord raised his wand, ready to give her The Dark Mark. Soon, a pain she had never even imagined spread through her arm. She would not scream out nor would she cry out… But it was too much to bear. She collapsed to the ground, twitching.

as darkness quickly steals the light
that shined within her eyes
she slowly swallows all her fear
and soothes her mind with lies
well all she wants and all she needs
are reasons to survive
a day in which the sun will take
her artificial light... her light

When they were through laughing, Pansy and Ron quieted, enjoying each other's company and the peacefulness between them. Pansy eyes filled up with tears once again as she thought of what she had to say…

"Pansy?"

Pretending she had fallen asleep, she tried to stop the tears threatening to fall.

"I know you can't hear me, but, well, I think I'm in love with you."

His voice fell into a whisper. That was too much for even Pansy. Tears she had tried so hard not to show Ron began to fall down her cheeks like a flow of river.

and it's one more day in paradise
one more day in paradise
it's one more day in paradise
one last chance to feel alright... alright

don't pretend to hold it in just let it out
don't pretend to hold it in just push it out
don't you try to hold it in just let it out and
don't you try to hold it in you hold it in

After what seemed to be about an eternity, the pain finally ended. A tear she had been holding in so hard fell down her cheek slowly. Slowly, she stood up and faced the Dark Lord. There was a new, cold look in her eyes. She was going to forget it. Forget him, forget it all, forget what could have ever been. It was for the best.
