A/N: This is my very first fanfic, so sorry if it its a bit rough. This chapter is really short but hopefully I will get more up soon. Please give me feedback on what you want to happen. I would appreciate any advice. This story is eventually going to be a JavaJive and a Literati. I own nothing.. Here is the story:
It had been just a little over five years, but he still thought about her everyday. The way he she made him feel when she used to come to the dinner. She was the only one who could make him smile when he was having a bad day. Everything about her was perfect to him Everywhere he looked he saw her, everything reminded him of her. Luke missed Lorelai more then he ever thought was possible. Luke thought they would always be together. He remembered the day he asked her to marry him.
Flashback
"Lorelai, where the hell are you. I asked you to meet me at the diner thirty minutes ago." Luke left a message on Lorelai's answering machine.
Lorelai came rushing into the diner the second that he hung up the phone. The minute she appeared at the door Luke knew that he couldn't stay mad her. She was the most beautiful girl that he had ever seen.
"I am soo sorry Luke, I wanted to look perfect for tonight but I couldn't find the right dress. Then I found the perfect dress but I didn't have the right shoes to go with it. So I had to go through all of Rory's shoes. But of course she took them all to college with her, so I had to call up.. " Lorelai rambled as always.
"Lorelai, calm down. You look perfect." Luke looked at her amazed how he got so lucky, he was nervous but some how he knew things would work out.
End Flashback
Of course Lorelai had said yes. But things just didn't work out. Two months before the wedding the Dragonfly had tragically burned down. Lorelai was devastated but she was offered a great job in Massachusetts, It was perfect because Rory also transfered to Harvard. She took the job but Luke no matter how much he seemed to hate Stars Hollow just could not leave it. He could not turn his back on the diner he loved so much. They kept in contact as long as they could but after awhile they just couldn't stand talking to each other knowing it could be months until they could hold each other again. The wedding was called off.
Luke had a pretty good life. He was in his mid 40's now. Jess had rented an apartment in Stars Hollow. He was helping Luke with the diner as much as they could. They both seemed happy but something was just missing... they both could feel that something big was about to happen.
