"Watch the road!" Kate screamed as the car swerved.

"Scared I'm going to crash, Katie?" Kate glared at Tony.

"Yes. I'm too young to die!"

"Don't worry. I won't crash…yet."

"Yeah, that's what I'm afraid of," Kate muttered. Tony winced as Kate hit him upside the head, so he didn't see the truck in front of him, its headlights white and blinding in the otherwise black night.

"Oh, crap!" Tony tried to swerve, but it was too late. They hit the truck with a squeal of tires and a sickening crunch.

From the shadows, a figure watched the ambulances rush to the scene and the EMS workers hurry to the car where two bodies lay, not moving.

Suddenly, a car stopped in front of the scene and three very familiar figures got out of the car. One rushed over to an EMS worker standing nearby.

"What happened?" Gibbs barked, staring in horror at the car. It had been flipped over and partially crushed.

"Drunk driver. His breath test read 1.0. They hit the truck and flipped," the EMS worker replied, shaking his head. "It doesn't look good." There was a sob from behind them. Gibbs spun around, an angry look on his face, but it softened when he saw the tears running down Abby's face.

"Don't worry, Abbs," Gibbs said gently. "We'll get them to hospital. They're going to be fine." McGee wrapped his arms around Abby.

"We're going to have to intubate," an EMS worker said loudly. Abby sobbed even harder.

The figure in the shadows stood silently, watching all of this, taking it all in.

"How could this happen to me?" the figure said softly. "I-I'm not ready, I can't, I…"

A voice from behind the figure spoke.

"Kate…" the figure spun around.

"Tony?" she asked, surprised. "But, I thought…" she glanced over at the stretchers where their bodies lay. Tony shook his head.

"My body gave out on me," he replied.

"But…we can't be…" Kate shook her head disbelievingly. "I-I'm too young. I still have so much I want to do…I want to backpack across Europe. I want to fall in love, get married, have kids…grow old." Kate said the last one softly.

"It's too late," Tony stepped forward. "I know this may seem trivial now that we're…I mean, since we…" he stopped, unable to continue.

"What, Tony?" Kate insisted.

"I love you, Kate Todd," Tony blurted out. "It's kind of pointless, since we're…" Tony trailed off and looked down, surprised, when Kate threw her arms around Tony.

"I love you too, Tony Dinozzo." They stood together, watching the scene. Tony took Kate's hand, their fingers intertwined.

"But we're…" Kate choked up, her eyes filling with tears.

Tony nodded. "But we have eternity to spend together." Kate didn't move, her eyes fixed on the three figures standing together.

"We'll see them again," Tony said softly.

"Yeah, we'll see them again," Kate echoed. They turned around and started to walk away.

An EMS worker slowly approached Gibbs, his head bowed. Gibbs stared at him expectantly.

"Well?" The EMS worker shook his head.

"I'm sorry, Agent Gibbs." Abby collapsed to the ground. Gibbs stared numbly, as the two figures in the shadows slowly faded away forever.

Okay, so this was inspired by three songs:

1. "I Will Love You" by Sarah Slean

2. "Untitled (How Could This Happen To Me?)" by Simple Plan

and

3. "Don't Wanna Miss A Thing" by Aerosmith

I'm sorry to everyone who is sitting at their computers crying! I was bawling asI wrote this, and then I made Julia read it, and she started crying...It's a vicious cycle...
