"Oh him? That's Riku he just transferred here today or so they say." Kairi took a bite of her apple before adding, "Already much more popular with the ladies." She said with a giggle. Giving the now beet-red Sora a wink she rose from the lunch table and cleaned off her tray.

Selphie looked around the group of assembled students, taking a deep breath to settle her shaking hands. Plastering a fake smile onto her face she placed her hands on the podium and began.
"The play is called Kingdom Hearts. There are three main roles. Sora will be the Princess who holds the key to darkness, Riku will be the Prince who holds the key of light and Namine will hold the key to the kingdom.."
--
"My dearest Prince Riku. As much as I love you with all of my heart, I'm afraid we will always be apart. Your kingdom is that of the light and mine will forever be in your shadow." Sora blinked as sweet rolled into his eyes. Why did this wig have to be so long and itchy…?
"I do not care. I'll pry the darkness away from your soul and cast you in the light to be my lovely song bird forever!" Riku exclaimed valiantly, sweeping his arms wide to the crowd.
--
Rain poured onto the streets as if the gods in heaven were crying for the three broken souls below. Riku's strong arms circled beneath the girl's still body as he lifted her close. "I'm so sorry.." He said in a hoarse whisper. "I promised to protect you and I couldn't even do that."
"Riku.." Sora said gently from behind. Laying his hand on Riku's frozen shoulder he tried to hold back his own tears, for the both of them.
--
"This is what it means to be part of the Heartless, Sora! We move from town to town. We can't stay in one place. I have to go with Ansem." Riku stated bluntly with an icy hint to his tone.
"What if I became a Heartless!" Sora asked frantically, holding onto Riku tighter. "You can't leave me behind like this, you can't!"
"I'm sorry but this is good-bye.."
--
Kairi looked down at Sora. This was the boy who had held her together after she had first learned of her adoption, the boy who cut her fetal pig in AP Biology because she couldn't do it herself. This was the boy that protected her.
"Snap out of it Sora!" She screamed at the unmoving lump beneath the covers. "Sulking won't make him come back!"

A teenager sat alone beneath the blooming cherry trees, his mind wandering as the wind tugged at his brown gravity defying locks. Junior High had been hell. What would High School be like? Blinking blue eyes looked toward the path waiting for the friend he had known forever to come back with their lunches.
Silver hair. "Riku..?"
Just a small teaser if you will of what to expect. This is not in violation of the rules of submission as it's not seperate from the actually story. The first chapter will be up by tomorrow.
