Category: Gundam Wing, implied 1+2

Disclaimer: One day, I'll own something as brilliant as Gundam Wing, but that will probably have to wait for after I graduate out of high school.
Spoilers: None.
General Notes: I was just joining the GW500 community, and their "theme" for the week was "between the lines". I don't know why, but I just decided to write this little fic. It doesn't really have a plot, or a reason, nor is it joined to anything. It's just a calm little insert about two friends chatting, hence the title Interlude.
Specific Notes: No specific notes really...
Music: Ligh of Love - Somebody...; Inner Universe - Origa; Maze - Tsukihime OST
Genre: General
Word Count: 310
Summary: 1+2 Heero and Duo have a little conversation about whether Duo should cut his hair...a short little piece about reading between the lines

Interlude

By Assassin

A warm wind blew by, ruffling through Duo's long hair. He wondered dully whether he should have made do with any random hair tie after losing his own earlier, or if he should just chop it off instead. As important as the three foot long hair was to him, it was also very annoying.

'Hey Heero?' He asked quietly, turning his gaze on the short-haired boy beside him. 'Reckon I should cut my hair?'

'Why do you ask?' Was Heero's response, his own gaze trained on a plane in the sky.

'It's bothersome, you know?' Duo grabbed a fistful of his hair, playing for a moment with the strands. 'I lose my hair tie and it goes everywhere.'

'Bring more next time then.' Heero replied, his voice indicating clearly how little he cared.

'I do, but they always end up missing somehow.'

'That's because you are not prepared enough.' Duo smirked, trust that comment out of the perfect soldier. There was silence for a moment.

'I think I'll cut it tomorrow.' Duo declared, getting up on his feet. He gazed down at Heero who was sitting with his back against the wall, searching for a response of some kind. The other boy shrugged. There was silence again, then:

'That would be a waste.' Duo startled, surprised by the unexpected reply. He stared for a moment, and Heero was silent again, eyes fixed on a billboard on the rooftop of the building across the street.

'How so?' Duo asked quietly, and Heero turned his gaze on him.

'You've had it for so long.' The Japanese boy murmured before standing up to lean against the wall beside Duo. 'Bothersome or not, it starts to grow on you, don't you think? No pun intended.'

'I guess so.' Duo smiled slightly, and he fancied he could see a small, sincere smile flick across Heero.

AN: Well..there isn't much to say. Hope you enjoyed it, despite its shortness and relative pointless-ness, but anyways, please review.
