Soar
by Korii Shoujo
Seemingly soaring, she felt as if the entire sky had encased her body in its haunting warmth. Wind danced by feverantly, blinding her eyes and ears to the point of darkness. Yet bliss invaded her mind, body, and soul. Every fibre of her being danced in celebration of the blithe mood it was being treated to so suddenly. Her flushed skin tingled and giggled merrily; sun-kissed hair fell back in waves, like the broken ends of a spider's web in a spring shower. Words jumbled in her throat, unable to untangle themselves from the traffic jam that they were caught up in. Not that they really wanted to, anyway. Such a moment, just simply being captured everything like a fish net in the deep ocean. No words were truely necessary.
Then, like a ride at some theme park, fleeting and fragile, it was over.
Arms that encircled her waist, her lifelines to Earth, tugged her down from her concrete perch on the ceiling of the building, alive yet dead with the vibrant colours of the twilight. Reality fell back into place rapidly, dropping around her heavily like bricks. Eyes as vivid as the purest sapphire clouded over like the stormy ocean in oncoming disappointment, their owner glancing back towards her hold on the true world with so much frustration, he couldn't help but chuckle slightly in sincere humour. Syrup-colored eyes flowed merrily into their partner's, melting her silent yet serious fury. She sighed, a short breath of air, closing her incandescent orbs gently and falling back into his arms as gently and softly as a downy feather.
"You're such a meanie."
A slight smile tugged at the corners of his lips as he replied to her so-called mock frustration, planting a light kiss on her forehead covered with hair strands the pale color of cornsilk, then wrapping her small hands comfortingly in his own. He leaned forward tiredly, sealing his eyes shut firmly as he nuzzled his chin deep into her water-scented hair.
"I know. I just get jealous."
"Even the wind lay still,
Our Essence,
Fire & Cold -
And Movement."

A/N: Just a little 10 minute something to get rid of the terrible time I'm having with The Ghost. I have the plot completely worked out, it's just that it's hard putting some of it into words. Ah, well, I'm writing it slowly but surely. Bear with me. :)
