Chapter 1: Starting the Day Off Wrong
After she made sure the door was locked, out came the knife. It was like this day after day. It was routine. She started when her Grandmother died. That was when her Dad started beating her. One cut for Grandma, One cut for Mom, and one cut for the happy life she'll never have. Once she was done she hid her knife under her bed by duct taping it to the underside of the frame, put her all her sex-bracelets on and made sure they were in the right place to hide her scars, and unlocked the door, mentally preparing herself for the day; beatings, screaming, and watching other people live happy. She crept down the stairs, trying her damnedest not to wake her father and send him into another beating frenzy. Unfortunately, she hit that one squeaky step, and there was a," KAGOME!" heard throughout the house. Hearing this, she ran for dear life down the rest of the stairs, through the kitchen, through the living room, jumping over toppled furniture from the night before, and grabbed her notebook on the way out. Then she ran from her seemingly beautiful home on the coast of a seemingly beautiful beach until she found herself safely down the pier...and when she did, she took out a notebook in which she was writing a story, one that would end"...happily ever after..." As she sat there, she stared at all the people around her; 4 people in particular. A fox demon named Shippo, and the 2 demon exterminator twins, Sango and Kohaku. The 4th she watched was the hunky lifeguard with the golden eyes and silver hair, and chiseled abs…She stopped looking at him after she found herself drooling. Seeing her down at the pier, Sango, Shippo, and Kohaku all came over to say hi. Sango looked like a model in her pink polka-dot bikini with her tan, and her hair pulled back in her signature ponytail and black eye shadow on her deep soulful eyes. Her brother, Kohaku, was an assistant lifeguard, and he had abs to rival Inuyasha's. Of course he had to have those abs to be a demon exterminator. Kagome had gone with them to a couple of their workouts with their father, and the rest of their family. Boy, she wouldn't want to get THEM mad. Shippo was the cutest thing. He had a soft, fluffy tail that was yellow-orange, and he was so tiny! When ever he smiled, she just wanted to pick him up in a huge hug and squeeze the life out of him. He has red hair, which always has a leaf in it. He loves to show off for her with his fox fire magic. After they exchanged greetings, they invited her to join them in their game of "Chase the wave". She politely declined, and said she'd rather just watch. (In truth, I think she did a little more watchin' of 'Yash than them) She laughed as she turned her attention to the happy family, and watched Kohaku get taken down by a wave. She laughed when she saw him reach out and drag his sister down with him. Her laughter was cut short when she watched Shippo hit his head on a rock as he was knocked down by a different wave. She screamed for help, and saw a blur of silver, red, and tan fly by.
