……………Chapter One……………

Anticipation and Aggravation

Harry's eyes were wide open, his heart pounding with anticipation. The moment he had been waiting for, for what seemed like years but was only a couple of months, was almost here. He was nervous but at the same time excited. Harry had been lying in bed all night long, not being able to sleep, anxious for the day to begin. Today was his first day of his seventh year at Hogwarts. There wasn't much to do to get ready for he had had his bags packed for almost two weeks now. It made it quit difficult to get dressed in the morning, seeing as how all his clothes were packed away but he didn't care. Every time he saw the trunks lying in the corner his heart skipped a beat. He was so excited. Excited to see his friends again. Excited to be back in his Gryffindor dormitory, in his four poster bed. It was the simple things that he had missed He had owled Ron and Mione often and anticipated their responses but it wasn't at all the same as actually talking to them. Hedwig had seemed annoyed to see her cage sitting lopsided on the trunks and often cooed at Harry as if trying to persuade him to return her cage to its rightful place so she could sleep level and not have to shift here weight so to not tip over, but Harry didn't seem to really notice.

Only 2 hours and 14 minutes Harry thought happily, staring at the digital clock on his nightstand. The train was scheduled to leave at seven o' clock. Uncle Vernon seemed to notice lately that Harry had been getting anxious and tried to use this fact to his advantage. He often threatened Harry, telling him if he didn't do his chores that there wasn't a snowball's chance in Hell that he was going to take him to King's Cross station. But Harry knew that these were just empty threats and that the Dursleys wanted him out just as much as he himself did.
