My friend
All alone
In my prison
Hell swirling all about me
One friend
Just one
Sitting mutely in the corner
Watching me suffer in silence
A man
An evil man
Beats me with a whip
Cruelty flashing in his eyes
Others come to watch and jeer
My friend just stares at my misery blankly
They laugh at me
At my face
The face of Satan
Adoring a mere child
My friend is motionless, ever motionless
My burlap sack is yanked off
My secret revealed to a disgusted world
Naked to insults and advertised horror
My friend does nothing to intervene
When the spectators leave
I cry myself into a troubled sleep
A boy consumed by despair
My friend sheds no taers for my plight.
