This is just a little short fic that I wrote in 15 just to see if I could. It's kind of an AU ending to the movie so if you haven't seen it don't read it.And for those of you wondering hides yes I am one of those rare Raoul fans.
Anyhoo as much as I would like to I can't claim owner ship of any of the characters in Phantom of the Opera sighs
Raoul tenderly set the music box on the marble headstone of his angel. He could feel the tears running down his wrinkled cheeks but he didn't care if anyone saw he was morning his beloved wife. He knew what the music box meant to her, He had made it. She had often spoke of it, though she spoke little of its maker he knew that she had thought of him often.
Raoul had been jealous of the light that would come into her eyes every time that something was mentioned that would remind them of the "Angel of Music" But he had come to realize that even though she did indeed love her Phantom, she had chosen him. And he had been doing everything that he possibly could to earn her love since that day.
He studied the picture on the tombstone; she had been so beautiful even as she grew old she had never lost that glow of life that always seemed to be with her. His eyes traveled down the stone before he let out a startled gasp. Lying on the edge of the stone was a single red rose; around its stem was a black, silk ribbon. Tied with in the ribbon was Christine's engagement ring that she had given to the Phantom all those years ago.
"He's still alive!" Raoul thought before searching the grave yard for a sign of his nemeses of old.
Eyes followed the Vicomte as he traveled through the cemetery, a small feeling of payback as he watched him place His music box on her grave. They had both given their hearts to this girl and she had taken them both with her to her grave. He saw now that Raoul had seen his gift to their Angel. Their Angel, that's what she was, she had saved them both. He saw that Raoul was searching the grave yard now; he could tell that Raoul knew he was still here.
A movement behind a weeping angel statue caught Raoul's eye and as he watch a figure in a black hooded cape appear out of the mist. The hood was up but Raoul didn't need to see a face to know who the figure was. They studied each other for a long time before the Phantom gave a nod to Raoul. They had both lost her and that fight had ended long ago, Raoul nodded back finally forgiving him as Christine had all those years ago.
See I told you it was short...ah well drop me a note if you would like, thanks,
