AN! I REPOSTED! DUDE! WHEE.
Here is a sweet K/N text I typed up. Set in Squire. I want to portray a more emotional Kel, so be ready for waterworks (well, how I would feel)…
BTW NOT MINE!
A Moment to RememberA tear-splotched Kel sat at her desk and sulked. People who knew her would say this was highly unusual under different circumstances, but today was a totally different matter.
"Damn him to the Black God's Realm!" She said to her rag-tag dog, Jump. "He says he loves me, and all those sticky sweet names, and then I find him, Cleon, kissing a dithering little Court Lady!"
Jump replied with a, Kel hoped, sympathetic bark, and walked over to whine at the door. Kel took no notice until someone yelled, "MINDELAN! Get out here! I am so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so HUNGRY!" Only Neal, thought Kel dryly, A glimmer of hilarity in a shit-filled day.
As Neal barged in, he noticed Kel's tear stained face. "O gods, Kel! What happened?"
"Cleon…" was all she could choke out as the waterworks began again.
"Cleon? Shit! If he did what I think he did…"
"No, not what you're thinkin' of. Worse. He was," here she started sobbing uncontrollably. "Cheating on me."
"Oh Kel…" was all Neal said as he wrapped her in his arms.
When she was in his arms Kel felt good, safe even. He was her best friend and he wouldn't let anything happen to her.
Neal looked down at his best friend and sighed, Kel noticed. She felt like sighing wistfully at the emotions his face was displaying. So open, so free. He could do practically anything, feel anything and most people would hardly notice. Not Kel. She took in every detail of Neal, every wrinkle in his tunic, every joy in his eyes, and yet…. He wouldn't notice her unless she disappeared, Kel thought. A depressing thought, but Kel was ready to wager that it was true.
Neal closed the door and sat down on her bed, motioning for her to sit down. Kel was confused. "Were you not hungry? And Lord Wyldon will be furious if he finds out you closed the door. Quite trivial but, that is Wyldon."
"I wasn't hungry, and the Stump won't find us. Merric, Seaver, and His Highness, Roald, sent me to get you. You have been cooped up here ever since you went to the gardens. I can guess what happened, don't worry." He added when Kel winced.
They looked at one another. Kel had not noticed, as observant as she was, how beautiful his eyes were. Such a deep green. Entrancing really. So many emotions, she could tell what they all were, except for one. Kel was falling into the depths of those eyes until she heard him say, "Kel, I need to, uhhhh, ask you something. Errr….. Dyoulome?"
Blushing furiously, Kel asked, "Uhhh… What did you say?" If he said what I think he said, I'll be happy, Kel thought. She had had a crush on him for years.
"Err…. Okay Kel, to put it short, I've loved you for years, it hurt me to see you with someone else. D'you love me?"
Blushing even more, and not bothering to restrain it, Kel whispered, "Ever since I met you. Ye, yes I do."
Neal grinned weakly. "Well, it all worked out. All our friends but me have belles, so to speak. Now I do." He leaned in, as Kel did, and they kissed.
The kiss. Electrifying, wonderful, full of passion, longing built up over the years. It lasted for a while that seemed like eternity, like a second too.
"Woo Hoo! The kiss! Seav! You owe me a gold noble!" A boy yelled. It was Merric, who had entered the room with Seaver, Roald, Owen, and Esmond. The boys, barely able to restrain the laughter before, broke into a din of laughter. Fortunately, this was Midwinter, and Wyldon couldn't hear. Even so, Kel thought, rumors are gonna flock around about me.
Neal pushed the boys out the door, and locked it in place. "Now, where were we?" He asked with a grin. As he leaned in for another kiss, and she did too, she heard raucous laughing outside.
Who cares, thought she, this will be a moment to remember.
Fin.
