The Phantom of Swan Lake

The Phantom of the Opera belongs to Gaston Leroux

Once, a long, long time ago, there was a princess named Christine. She was the most beautiful princess the world had ever seen. One day she was approached by a masked magician named Erik, but he was called the Phantom of Swan Lake. He told Princess Christine that he would turn her into a goose if she didn't marry him. She, of course, refused. So, Erik turned poor Christine into a goose.

Now, in another kingdom, there lived a prince. His name was Raoul, and he wasn't very good looking. In fact, he was very ugly. No one wanted to marry him, but he wanted a wife. He heard that the Princess Christine had been turned into a goose by Erik, the Phantom of Swan Lake. He resolved to find her and break the spell, but he didn't know how. But, being a dumb fop and an ugly prince who needed a wife, desperately, he went to Christine's kingdom. In no time, he had found the lake.

There was a wise man in Christine's kingdom who knew Erik very well, and all of his tricks. He told Prince Raoul that Christine was only a goose during the day, and at night she was forced to stay in Erik's basement under artificial sunlight. She hadn't been a human for about three months. The only way to break the spell was to kiss her. Raoul was immediately disheartened. No one would want to kiss an ugly and dumb fop like him. He bet Christine would rather stay a goose for the rest of her life. But he resolved to try anyway.

Prince Raoul found Erik's house in no time. It was in a very obvious place: near the lake. When he entered, he discovered immediately his worst fears had been confirmed. Christine was content to refuse Raoul. At that moment, Erik came back in. He saw Raoul and was happy because his ugliness was beyond belief. Even Erik looked better than Raoul (and Erik had a distorted face, which is why he is a MASKED magician). Erik went over to Christine and placed a soft kiss on top of the slim yellow beak. Christine made no movement to get away, as she was not too keen on allowing Raoul to break the spell. Anyway, Raoul died on the spot and Christine married Erik and they all lived happily ever after. Except Raoul, of course.
