At Gringotts, Snape walked Harry up to the most unusual looking creature Harry had ever seen. "Mr. Potter would like to make a withdrawal from his vault," Snape said quietly.
The creature turned and appraised him. "And does Mr. Potter have his key?"
Snape presented it to the teller who took it and handed it off to another creature. "Goblins, Harry," Snape whispered in his ear. "Smart as anything and just as mean. Nowhere but Hogwarts is safer than Gringotts." Snape stood and leaned closer to the teller. "I also need to pick up an item on the Headmaster's request'," he murmured, sliding a charmed letter from Dumbledore across the counter. The goblin read it and nodded, and passed the letter to the goblin holding the key to Harry's vault.
"Go with Griphook," the teller said.
Harry followed Snape into a long corridor. Snape helped Harry get into a little car on tracks. 'I'll get Dumbledore for this,' thought Snape, as he felt his stomach quiver and shake as the cart sped through the dark tunnels.
Suddenly the cart screeched to a stop. Snape grimly climbed out and turned to help Harry. The goblin stepped up to the vault and unlocked it. Harry stared in disbelief. There were piles and piles of coins from floor to ceiling – and this was just to last him for his school years and then there were other vaults. Other vaults. Harry was completely flabbergasted. This is the kind of thing you dream about when you're poor, Harry thought. That someone will come along, pull you out of your misery, and tell you that you're rich. Ridiculously rich. I'm rich. But I better not let the Dursley's know. I bet anything they wouldn't be a bit put out by wizarding money.
Snape got out a velvet bag and filled it to bursting. "There," he said, handing Harry the heavy bag, "that should last you through the year and some. Don't worry about learning the coin values right now. Your Head of House will help you with that later. Or one of the older students in your house. For now, know that in order of value from most to least, you have the galleon, sickle, and knut. And it is possible to exchange for muggle currency or vice versa. Obviously the exchange would need to be made in our world, not the muggle one. Today I will help you with your purchases, but right now we had better get going."
When they returned to the lobby, another goblin stepped up to meet them. He had a small box in his hands, that looked to be made out of some kind of metal, but Harry wasn't sure what kind. "As requested," the goblin said, handing the box to Severus. Severus took the bow, gave a slight bow of thanks to the goblin, and tucked the box away into an inside pocket of his robes.
Without any explanation, he ushered Harry out the front doors.

I apologize that several of the updated chapters are still short.
If I combine chapters, and delete the short ones, I will lose all of the previous reviews for them, and I didn't want to do that.
