Chapter 14: What Happened?!
Tired eyes opened for the first time in days. Looking around, they took in the new surroundings.
This place was nothing but white, it looked like a hospital.
"Where am I...?"
"In the hospital." Now there was a familiar voice.
Looking up, the eyes were greeted with a friendly face, Miroku.
"Well, Inuyasha, I see you've managed to cheat death yet again."
Inuyasha looked down at his arm, only to see tubes sticking out of them that led to an IV.
"Yes, you're very lucky to be alive."
He glanced towards the door to see Sango walk in.
"What happened?I can't...remember.."
Miroku and Sango exchanged glances and said nothing.
"Well, Kikyo shot you..fifteen times in the chest area. She was found later at the bus station and was taken down to the police station for questioning."
Miroku always did know how to keep a level head about things like this, Sango was the more emotional one. In fact, she looked like she wanted to cry. No matter how tough and aggressive she acted, she always got all emotional when she knew one of her friends were really hurt.
"I guess I'm lucky there wasn't that much damage done, huh?"
"You're lucky to be alive you half dead twit. If it weren't for the demon blood running through your veins, why you'd be nothing but a memory." Sesshoumaru stood in the entrance and walked in after he had made his presence known.
"Ahh, so nice of you to grace us with your presence Sesshoumaru. Shouldn't you be off shopping somewhere?" The other snickered at our little inside joke. We always teased him about his love of fine clothes and spending hundreds of dollars on them everytime he went out.
"Very funny, but if we didn't have the same father then I would never have bothered coming dear brother. It was only a favor to him that I check on you and make sure that one of those bullets didn't go astray and fly into your brain, causing damage, you're already a half wit,we don't need that half to become a quarter."
Inuyasha glared at his supposed "friends" as they laughed at his jackass of a brother's joke.
"Traitors."
"Don't mutter, and lay back, you're too weak to sit up yet." He hated when Sango become all motherly on him.
"Don't tell me what to do!" It was then that it struck him.
"Did one of you guys contact Kagome, I don't want her to be mad at me for my ass gettin' capped!"
Everyone turned quiet suddenly.
"What's wrong?"
"Inuyasha, we don't know where Kagome is. We tried calling immediately after we heard about you, but no one picked up at her house." Sango, looked very worried.
"How long have I been in here?"
"About twelve hours now." The usually calm Miroku looked worried too now.
"Well, did anyone go to her house to see if she's all right?"
"No, we've been waiting for you to wake up from surgery. It took awhile to remove all of those bullets." Sango chewed on her thumb nail, she never did unless she was anxieous about something.
"I'll go and check it out for 'ya Inu." Koga now entered the room. He didn't look to be in his best appearance at the moment, his long, nicely kept ponytail, looked ruffled, liked he'd been sleeping. His eyes had dark underlines, and his shirt was extremely wrinkled at this point.
"Thanks Koga."
Heavy lids opened. It hurt just to open them. Where was she? Kagome sat up and found herself in a dark room. It was not her room. This room was bare, except for the bed and dresser there was nothing else. Her head ached dully. She raised a hand to her head, only to find a slight bump on the side of her forehead.
"Figures.." She wasn't surprised they knocked her out, they probably figured she would struggle more than her mother.
Those bastards. They had them again. Now she and her mother were prisoners to them again, under their control.
"Ahh, so you're awake. That's good. I was wondering if perhaps Naraku had hit you too hard on your head. It's good to see that you are much stronger than your mother." The bastard was smiling. SMILING! After waht he had done to her and her mother, he had no right to be in her presence, much less smiling!
"Where have you taken us?" I was so pissed I could barely see straight.
"My, Naraku was right. Our little Kagome has become much more strong willed now, hasn't she?
Well I know how to fix that." He slowly approached her, removing his belt.
Kagome knew what he wanted, it was the same thing he had always wanted. Well see wasn't going to just take laying down. So she fought. She scratched at him, scraping some skin off of his face.
This only angered him, and he struck her violently with his belt to the point that she was almost unconcsious. He however, wouldn't allow the pleasure of slipping into the darkness. He wanted her to feel what he was doing to her, know what he was going to do to her, and most importantly, see what he was going to do to her.
She felt it. All of it. His thrusts. She screamed so much that sound would longer emit from her mouth. All she could do was scream silently, as tears slid down her face.
He ejected from her and left immediately after he had dressed, leaving a now battered and broken Kagome on the floor, next to her bed.
Kagome once again slipped into unconsciousness.
He arrived at his destination. His objective, find Kagome. If he should fail this mission, he would no longer hold the right to consider himself as Kagome's friend.
He tried the front door and wasn't surprised to find it locked. He'd have to find a way in on his own. Good thing he was a wolf demon, perfect for stealth. As long as he kept a low profile as to not arouse any suspicions from the neighbors, he would be okay. Not that demons were uncommon in this day and age.
He quickly moved to the side of the house and tried the window. No such luck. He took off his shirt and covered a small spot on the window, big enough for his hand to fit through and quickly punched through, hoping it wouldn't be too loud.
Smiling at his success, he opened the window and slipped in silently. His little celebration didn't last long however, as he took in the sight before him. There were streaks of blood everywhere. On each side of the doorframe there were bloody handprints. Someone was severely injured. But who? Was it Kagome? Or was it perhaps her mother? Judging by the way the handprints didn't really streak too far along the wall, he'd have to guess that they were made by someone who wasn't very strong. So it had to be Kagome's mother, since Kagome was a little tougher than that. If his guess was correct, then they probably knocked Kagome out, since she's likely to put up more of a fight. She wasn't exactly an easy girl to nail. Hell, he'd layed claim to witnessing that when she fought Kikyo. The girl had one hell of a left hook.
So he had failed her. If only he had gotten here sooner? No. The blood was completely dry, which indicated that this fight took place quite awhile ago, maybe even around the time Inuyasha was shot.
'Well, I better report back to Inuyasha, I don't like how this is gonna play out though, he's gonna have a fucking heart attack. Hell, I almost had one when I first stepped in here.'
After two hours of darkness, she finally woke up from unconsciousness for the second time that day. Even though it hurt like hell, she forced herself to get up. She walked out of her room.
She didn't care about being caught, she refused to submit to their every whim. If he was going to kill her then so be it. She walked down the hall. This place. It was...their old home. They were back in the same place that they had worked so hard to escape from. A one tear slid down her face as she looked toward the dead end of the hall. That's where she was that night, when he....
She forced her eyes to look away from the wall. Instead she looked into the room she was standing next to.
'Is that a person?' She squinted into the dark room to try and make out what the figure was.
The whole house was dark. She slowly approached the figure.
Her hands flew to her mouth as she immediately recognized the figure.
'Oh my....MOM!!!'
"Yes, she was not as fortunate as you. The foolish woman tried to pull a knife on me, she's so stubborn. That must be where you get it from."
Kagome spun around and stared harshly into the eyes of her step-father.
"How dare you do this to her? After everything you did to us, how dare you show your face again. Look at what you did to her?" Kagome was quickly losing her cool.
"I admit I did get a little carried away."
"A little!! Look at her! Her face and the rest of her body is pratically covered in blood you bastard!!" She raspily screamed at him. Her voice had still not healed.
She grabbed him by the collar of his shirt and pushed against the wall.
"My my, how tempramental you are. Nothing like the sweet little girl I used to love so much."
He smirked as he stroked her cheek in a loving fashion.
This only fueled Kagome's rage as she banged him into the wall again.
"Careful my dear, you don't want a replay of what happened earlier, now do you?" He was so cocky and full of himself.
Kagome closed her eyes and let go of him, she couldn't risk another beating right now. She needed to heal, and figure out how she and her mother were gonna get the hell out of there.
Kagome's step-father watched her retreating figure and licked his lips.
'Well Kagome, you've certainly gotten stronger. Things are going to be so much more interesting now that you're here Kagome, because now that I have you...I'll never let you go.'
There, you happy now? I updated as quickly as possible. Just don't expect the next installment for a little while, I'm not sure what's gonna come next. I mean I do, but I have to figure out how I want to arrange the events. So review and til next time adieu!
