Lucius watched his son enter the meeting room at Azkaban. He could tell the boy was nervous, his eyes darting from side to side, trying to take in everything at once. Narrowing his eyes he watched as Draco gingerly sat down in the chair opposite him. He waited, knowing that Draco would eventually break the silence to say why he was there.
"Father, I hope your as well as can be expected." Draco stared at Lucius, surprising the older man. It appears his son has grown up.
"As well as I can be given where I am at." Lucius replied as he stared back at his son.
"I've come to give you an ultimatum father. Either turn against Voldemort or I'll make sure that you rot here for the rest of your life. However long that is."
"Looks like your relationship with the mudblood has given you a backbone that I never thought you'd have. Will wonders never cease."
"While she may be muggleborn, she's also now your daughter-in-law." Draco replied, staring right into his father's eyes as he dropped his news into the older man's lap.
"So because you decided not to follow in the family tradition, I am supposed to switch sides to do what exactly? Make your wife happy?" Lucius all but spat the word out of his mouth.
"This isn't about Hermione. This isn't even about me. This is about you and mum. She loves you, although I honestly don't understand why. You've put her through so much all because you follow a power hungry half blood that only wishes he were a full blooded wizard. You bow at his feet and kiss his hands like some sort of….of…servent. When I was little you were my hero, I wanted to be just like you. Then he returned to power and I watched you go from a powerful man to this. What you are now. For the first time in my life I'm ashamed that you're my father. That I even know you. If you don't switch sides you'll either die in here, alone, or if you get out we'll see next meet across the battlefield. It's your choice now."
Draco stood up, gave his father one last glance before turning and walking out of the room without a backwards glance.
Lucius sat there for a second before the guard told him to get a move on. "My son grew up." He shook his head, still in a bit of shock before going back to his cell. He got a piece of parchment and decided he wanted his family back. His life back. He was going to finally and honestly renounce Voldemort.
And it felt good to finally be free.
The End.
