For the first time in his life, Billy Cranston couldn't study.

He had attempted to go over that morning's lecture in Advanced Computer Programming, numerous times. But who in their right mind would be satisfied with notes from a high school class after what he had seen? Alpah-5, the Command Center, the Zords… it was technology Billy had considered just in the theoretical stages… until now. There was so much for him there, and even though he doubted he could learn everything about it in his lifetime, but he was determined he was going to learn everything he possibly could.

But along with the excitement came the fear, and that was nagging at Billy far more than trying to figure out how Alpha worked ever could. He understood why the other-dimensional being Zordon had chosen his friends to defend the planet… but he was just a kid who kept to his computer. He couldn't even get through his first karate lesson without messing up. How could he be depended on when they were in battle? What if he made a mistake?

What if one of his friends was killed because of him?

Realizing that there was no way he could keep his mind on his homework now, Billy closed his notebook (which was now half full of blueprints based off of his memories of the Command Center) with a dull thud. He looked up, and noticed that Trini was still there, practicing Mantis style kung fu just as she had been an hour ago, the picture of serenity. Billy wished he knew how she managed it. She seemed to take everything in stride, even being chosen to wear bright yellow and protect the Earth from an evil sorceress bent on making it her own.

"Trini?"

"Yes?" She paused and looked at him, calm as always.

He knew that they were supposed to keep their new identities secret, but they were the only ones left at the Juice Bar, and Ernie was cleaning the kitchen before he closed for the night. As long as he kept his voice low, they would be safe. "… How do you do it?"

She raised an eyebrow, obviously perplexed. "How do I do what, Billy?"

"You can handle anything. Rita, Goldar, the fighting, the responsibility…" He frowned, realizing he was more than likely babbling nonsense as usual. "Anything and everything."

"Are you kidding? I'm terrified."

"But… you're not afraid of anything."

Trini shook her head. "Trust me, Billy, we're all just as frightened as you are, if not more. But we have to remember that Zordon chose the five of us for a reason. We're the only ones who can do this." She picked her yellow duffel bag up off of the practice mat. "And if we ever think otherwise, then Rita's already won."

She stood next to him, and put a comforting hand on his shoulder. "No matter what, know that Zordon has faith in us, in you. And so do I." She grinned warmly. "Now, come on. I'll walk you home"

As he left the Youth Center with Trini walking with him and smiling, Billy felt a little better. After all, if Trini had faith in him, he should try to have a little faith in himself.
