Rain, Rain, Go Away...
He lifted the beer bottle to his lips, downing a few gulps in a mere moment, a look of pure contentment on his usual I-hate-everyone-in-this-room-very-much looking features.
He was sitting by the small pond, the dark brown bench harder than he'd first anticipated; not that he really cared all that much. He merely wanted to while away the hours with his beer, taking swig after swig of the cold, soothing drink. Sure, he might be addicted to it, but everyone had an addiction; and it wasn't doing anything to his health.
"Hey," a sudden voice lifted him from his drifting state, and he scowled in that Logan-like way.
"Whaddya want, kid?" he asked gruffly, rubbing at his shadow of a beard and turning her way. Rogue stood there in all her child-like grace, and yet was quite herself the woman.
"Can I sit with you?" she questioned, sending him a smile that nearly gripped his heart. A grunt and him turning away had her grinning and running over to plop down next to him. "So, what are ya doin' out here?" she asked, her accent beginning to curb her language once again.
Logan glanced her way, holding up his half-empty beer bottle. "What does it look like?" she played with the dog tags around her neck (that he had given her sometime along the way) and smiled.
"Drinking away your spare time," she stated loosely, lifting her sparkling chocolate eyes to him.
He snorted, very Logan-like, before a dark blot running across the ground caught his attention. "Damned spiders," he lifted his boot and, just like that, crushed it. Rogue gasped.
"Logan!"
"What? It was just a spider."
And, just like that, a small drizzle started. Her supersitions were confirmed. The rain began to fall at a more steady pace, and the girl jumped up with a soft yelp.
"What the hell?" questioned her companion, as he too stood up quickly.
"You killed a spider!" cried out Rogue, although she couldn't stop giggling.
"What is that supposed to do?"
"It rains," she stated dryly, before bolting towards the house. "C'mon Logan!" Logan rolled his eyes and made his way over. Rogue grinned and yanked at his shirt a bit, pulling him down to her level. "Thanks," she said, kissing his cheek. But not long after she looked up, giving the white-haired woman above a wink, as the rain started to subside.
"Wha--" but Wolverine had no time to say much, before Rogue was tugging him inside.
"Come inside, you're soaked!" she exclaimed, dragging him inside (with little resistance on his part, but a scowl on his face).
Storm just chuckled, entering the school from the balcony.
