Disclaimer: I own nothing but my seasons 1-3 DVDs.

A/n: I know it's been done before, but I've had this written for a long time and finally decided to put it up. Tell me what you think.

Lorelai walked into the kitchen after talking with Emily in her room. She looked at Luke and smiled.

He noticed this and asked, "What?"

"Nothing," she answered. "It's just…" she trailed off.

"Just what?" he urged.

"I just had a talk with my mother and…she had this crazy idea that we were…seeing each other."

Luke didn't say anything.

"It is crazy…isn't it?" She wasn't sure herself, she needed confirmation.

Luke glanced down at the table, then back to Lorelai. "Yeah…crazy."

"Luke?" Lorelai asked shyly, taking a step toward him.

"Yeah?" he answered quietly.

"Have you ever thought about it?" Lorelai inquired her voice just above a whisper.

"About what?" Luke asked, his voice a low volume.

"Us being…more than friends?" she asked, her voice still low.

Luke paused. "More than friends?" he repeated.

Lorelai stayed silent.

Luke sighed, avoiding her eyes, he answered, "Yeah, I have."

Lorelai suppressed a small smile. "When?" she asked, her voice rising in volume.

"Only when I see you," he answered shyly.

Lorelai, who had been looking down at the table, slowly raised her head to look at him. She took another step toward the diner man, "Why haven't you ever said anything?" She was starting to think that maybe her mother's suggestion wasn't so absurd after all.

Luke looked at her now. Her baby blues made him melt. "I didn't want to ruin our friendship. Besides," he added, "I didn't know if you'd feel the same way." He paused, "Do you?"

Lorelai took the few remaining steps towards him and wrapped her arms around his neck. "You tell me," she whispered before leaning in and pressing her lips to his.

"I'll take that as a yes?" Luke asked, breathless when they parted.

Lorelai smiled, "Take it."

A/n: Well? Good? Bad? Tell me what you think. This is intended to be a one-shot, so though it's short, this is it. Sorry.
