Lorelai asks, "Luke, will you marry me?"
Luke stares at her agape. In his mind he was going through every single time he'd pictured asking her to marry him, and not once in eight years did it occur to him Lorelai might be the one to ask him that question, at least not seriously, so he gave her the obvious answer, "What?"
Lorelai smiles, gets out of her chair and onto one knee, and asks him again hopefully, "Luke Danes, will you marry me?"
"Yeah. I mean, yes. Yes, I'll…God, yes I'll marry you!" He answers taking her hand and pulling her up into a bear hug.
Everything goes into slow motion and the song's first verse starts playing as they embrace.
Wise men say only fools rush in
But I can't help falling in love with you
Shall I stay
Would it be a sin
If I can't help falling in love with you
Luke puts Lorelai down and she reaches for her phone to call Rory and tell her about the engagement.
Like a river flows surely to the sea
Darling so it goes
Some things are meant to be
Take my hand, take my whole life too
For I can't help falling in love with you
Rory is looking outside an airport bay window with Luke as they both watch Lorelai boarding a plane. As she waves goodbye an engagement ring glimmers on her finger in the sunlight. Luke puts his arm around Rory's shoulders as they leave the terminal.
Next, they are at the Twickam house where Luke's showing Rory the latest renovations to the interior including a brand new nursery.
End of teaser.

Lorelai's standing on the porch of a beautiful beachfront inn in Hawaii wearing a lei around her neck and consults with the concierge.
She walks away smiling and takes out her cell, taking a quiet moment to stare at her ring. As she dials the music stops abruptly.
"Hello, Rory? no response Rory!"
Louder "Rory!"
"Mom, I'm going to need you to focus!" Rory says insistently shaking her mother back to reality.
Lorelai snaps back "Sorry, what was it you were telling me. You said it was important."
"I'm going to spend my summer in New York! Mr. Huntzberger gave me a terrible review, basically tried to crush my dreams of becoming Christian Amanpour. I was hysterical of course, but Logan explained to me that's what he tells all the rookies he really likes. It's sort of how he tests their dedication. So Logan asked me if I wanted to go to New York for the summer." she finished breathlessly.
"To New York?" Lorelai asked wide-eyed.
"Yeah, to surprise Mitchum by demanding the internship I earned on by my own merit. It seems like the right thing to do, don't you think, Mom?"
Lorelai proceeded hesitantly, "Well, yes, but where are you going to stay if he says no?"
"Oh, well, Logan has a place there. But Mom, he's not going to say 'no'. In fact, Logan said he knows from past girlfriends that Mitchum gives the surviving rookies internships with CNN's New York bureau. Can you believe, it? I'm going to work for CNN!"
Lorelai pinched herself on the forearm, an action that didn't go unnoticed by Rory.
"It seems almost like a dream, doesn't it?" Rory asked excitedly.
Lorelai responded "Yeah, almost."
